Follow the money. 2000 years ago it only took 30 pieces of silver to sell out an innocent man and few coins thrown to the crowd to administer the coup de grace with the mantra, "Give us Barabbas!". Trump is no Christ, but the press today sure resembles the crowd.
The WSJ has been a propaganda arm for the financial cartel since its inception.
They just did a better job of hiding it back when the data they lied about wasn't easily available.
Wall St makes a lot of profit from volatility and the WSJ (and other shills for WallSt) has the herd
moving in the direction that maximizes the WallSt cartel's profits- stealing from honest investors.
