It seems to me that the left really is more into destruction of our lifestyle than enhancing it. Tht means we should look to lifestyles going back in time with leftist policies making the economy shrink over time.

Me dino was already thinking of the Mad Max road warriors film franchise. In other words, of survivors of a nuclear holocaust however that may work out.

I've often made the statement: "If we didn't have the natural universal laws of Electricity:: Positive Electricity seeking Ground (negative) and Magnetism:: North magnetic's attraction to South Magnetic's; Nothing would nor could exist."
1st, Positive E and Negative E are not opposites, they are a complete system, part of a whole.
2nd, North magnetic's and South Magnetic's too, are not opposites, they also are part of a whole system. Male and Female physical entities fall right inline with the above laws.
3rd, Both of these laws are responsible for all physical matter to exist. I see them as the glue that binds. Some say, oh, but there is Chemical and Nuclear bonds. I say, look at what is in-between those so called bonds: A whole lot of pluses and negatives and magnetically prejudice in one direction or another.

My layman's observations tell me that physical matter nor those things that make up that physical matter could not exist without Electricity and Magnetism.

Lately, I have met a few Scientists that actually agree with little ole me but there is nothing said of the cosmic consequences of actions or behaviors that ignore those laws; Not to mention any attempts to live/operate outside of any other rational systems we know of.

However, the earthly consequences are clearly understood and observable.

All I can tell you or anyone else, is this is what I observe and I do have the academic right to even make such statements.

Well stated by Stephen Hicks and elaborated on by Walter Donway.

Reading the news media this proposition can be seen all the time in the cries of the left, the woke, the green, DEI, ESG and all that ilk. The cries, statements are not arguments but aggressive use of volume and repetition.

    All successful revolutions in history have exhibited three essential characteristics;
    1) Ideas i.e. Atlas Shrugged
    2) Leaders i.e. A real John Galt
    3) Foot soldiers

If any one of the three is missing, the revolution fails.

Okay, but the "practical game plan" is the philosophical counter-attack. How to do that? We have been trying since 1957 (Atlas Shrugged)... Thanks for the comment.

Excellent, indeed! I read "The Ominous Parallels" a long time ago and thought it was spot on and a lot more has happened since then. It's no longer in my library so I must have loaned it out and never got it back. I would like to think it's doing some good somewhere.

Ayn Rand seems to have the whole academic looter faction pegged in that they need a Hank Rearden to fund their machinations.

I don’t know that the case for Modernism could be stated any more clearly than you just did.

What the “last defenders” of Reason need most now is a practical game plan. How to mount a counter-attack.

Thanks, I have been exposed to these ideas at least since Peiikoff's, "The Ominous Parallels," which I was lucky enough to attend as his initial lecture series in New York.

After reading your article I say the title question is a good one. Maybe a descent into postmodernist darkness will be required to wake up the woke. Then again, as some are doing, pull the funding for such nonsense and starve it out before it all goes dark. Interesting as you give an historic timeline leading up to the Nazi culmination of such ideology and shine a light on it happening all over again. Nice article, thanks.
