I have just had a cassette player repaired, the cassettes I repaired/played with myself. No particular brand of pencil to recommend but the 6-sided were the best.
Faber-Castell rather than those from the Buen-Gusto Bakery in Berkeley as free samples - they were only good for writing.

Ah yes - beep talking. The first social media platform. Call your own number, get a busy signal and talk between beeps with others on the same line. Would exchange land line numbers if the person sounded promising.
