Here's an interesting video regarding the inflation of healthcare costs in the United States. I thought it was rather informative. :)

Sounds like the typical "I don't understand why it cost more here" foolishness.

Here's some of what is confused he points out that a hip replacement costs twice as much here as in Brazil. Why? Could it be that we have BETTER healthcare here than there. Like most people who have never been outside the US, apart from some resort someplace, The fact is that most of the "hospitals" in Brazil would not qualify as veterinarian clinics in THIS country - no wonder it costs more.

He also compares the medical of Germany to the US. Since I was injured in Germany (the accident that places me in this wheelchair for life) I do know something about the care in those hospitals. Let's just sum it up by saying that again, it's not what we are used to.

As I laid there in that ICU center with the Spinal Cord injury, the biggest discussion with my wife was how we would pay for my care. I was a US soldier, on active duty at a remote location and was injured in the line of duty, but the clinic we had there could not handle the care I needed immediately so I was sent to a local hospital. Pay was not even a question, but had to be settled BEFORE I was treated.

Tell me, in this country is payment the first concern in an emergency room??? NO. It's the care and treatment of the patient. No hospital can turn any patient away from emergency care by law. This guy poo-poos this, saying that it doesn't effect the cost, but offers no analysis or figures to back up his diatribe. Frankly, any fool knows that it effects costs.

Conclusion; fail - meant to impress the unknowledgeable and inexperienced.
