"So again I ask, “What happened to cause this partisan putz to change his mind?”"

"Engoron noted that dissolving Trump’s companies en masse “could implicate serious economic concerns.” And political ones as well."

CNN and Bloomberg report that several big investment firms are relocating out of New York, or divesting assets located there, or both. There is also an active boycott in which truckers are refusing to haul loads into New York.

In short, Engoron's arbitrary kangaroo-court has destroyed the reputation of the state as a safe place to do business.

The judge may think he can avoid being reversed, alleviate this danage, and/or save his career by reducing the fine. I doubt that he will achieve any of those things. He is a partisan hack who targeted Trump by name when reelected, and he has no business being a judge.

God help you if you are in russia and go against putin's power. God help you if you are in the USA and go against the woke left. Biden would assassinate if he could get away with it, but he would get caught probably.

Our legal system is not to be respected at all. Your only saving grace is to stay below the radar

Be interesting to see if the government treats the truckers like Canada did theirs, ie, freeze their money. Another reason not to have CBDC.

I'm going to disagree and point to the January 6th prosecutions, not to mention the FBI going after pro-life catholics. Our prosecutions are every bit as bad. Putin at least removed Novalny from any further incarceration or misery...

I never ate at Fosters. Maybe I'll give it a try. Oh, the real name of the place I always call "Hilton Diner" is really "Hilton Family Restaurant" in that little plaza. They have great fish fries as well as spaghetti and meatball dinners. Their breakfasts are top notch. In fact, I don't think I've ever had a bad meal there in the 40 years or so I've gone there. Great menu selection - all good.

Foster's restaurant was our favorite for the Friday fish fry. YUP, Rochester is one of the big liberal strongholds.

Whoa, Hilton is just a few miles down the road from me. Nice little town. Ate at the Hilton Diner a lot of times until Maria passed away. Used to live in Spencerport. Rochester is swinging seriously left right now.

YUP. We moved back to my original area in Sullivan county from Hilton in Monroe county.. If NY State would drop the 5 major metro areas off the map it would be rosy red. Population concentration in the big cities is NYs downfall, Citiots!

Here with you, GaryL, but I should have moved out years ago when I was younger. I have lots of family and friends here, too. House is paid off, etc... NYC is about 350 miles away from where I live. It can be quite beautiful up here on Lake Ontario and just a short drive to the Finger Lakes wine country. NY is a nice place except for the commie government getting more uppity every day. California suffers the same disease on a beautiful place.

NOT true and I beg to differ. I am in NY and IMO my brain fires on all cylinders. Lots of good folks here in my state but not many of them live in the big metro areas where the vast majority of the Citiots are destroying this great state.

    Businessmen and women take note.
If he can do this to the most powerful and popular man in America, he can do the same to you.

Like we needed another reason to leave NYC.

    Hey Manhattan:
Don't hold your breath waiting for the next truckload of goods.

Maybe the Truckers can effect a bigger pullback than that. I could only hope. We'd probably do like the Canadians and confiscate their trucks.

Wasn't so much a win but it showed the idiocy of the illegal leftist unjust system . . . we could have predicted it.
I do agree that ass wipe figured the fine based upon how much they'd make after repeal.

First, I am not a fan of the Click-Baity-ness of the actual story. It was NOT that big of a win.

Second, the REAL punishment is the BAIL Bond.
Trump will have to PAY and FORFEIT 10% of his lawsuit amount in the form of a Bond. That's like $35 million. The JUDGE KNEW this. And even if over turned, this is the cost of trying to fight it. Trump must pay this while appealing.

I find this truly appalling. And is probably why the judge put such a high number on the damages.

This mess is a travesty of our justice system.
BLM gets paid MILLIONS for their arrests when they burned, abused, and looted when Trump was elected. But Jan 6th defendants get Decades in jail and huge fines.

It's like dealing with a toddler who is trying to figure out "Do I really have to listen to these big people?"...

Turns out Putin was justified in a sense, the guy was seeking funding from MI6 and the CIA to create a color war . . . from what I understand he was no freedom lover.
Now, could Putin have done something legally or did he do anything at all. Maybe somebody wanted it to look like he ordered it.

We, here in the stated are trying the legal route, how's that working out for us?

The judge, the DA, the AG, the Mayor, the Governor and the entire judiciary in NY are all democrats and NY is failing miserably. That should send a clear message to every NY resident with half a brain.

Walk back? The NY justice system insists that Trump pay $400 million in order to appeal this biased rubbish..
When NY pays Trump $500 million for the treason against him, and reverses all the biased decisions, then that's walking back.
Until then: NY judges and jurors, NIFO.

When Ken Griffin moved Citadel Capital out of Chiraq IL to FL, I estimated from the numbers I found that this lost about 1% of the IL annual income tax revenues.

This judge is an idiot for even fining Trump. Such stupidity is beyond believe. If I had any connection with NW, I would make plans to sever it NOW, rather than wait for the hammer to drop on me
