Turning 77, I've been recalling a circle of time that has me off and on singing "77 Sunset Strip" and that's all there is to sing of that song.
It was one of those 1958 dime a dozen private detective TV shows of the same name.

That triggered another memory. A costar named Edward Byrnes played a character named Kookie who liked to comb his hair.
With a comb I imitated Kookie combing his hair in front of two girls I liked during a school recess.
They went all gaga going OO! and AH! That was one the easiest efforts of making an impression in all my young life

Ed Sullivan would spend a whole hour-long show repeatedly saying any rock band was next yet it would always be the last thing shown.

Very good! Hey, back in the '70s when all us guys had to have a CB in our vehicles my handle was "Rocket Man". Holy smokes, I still remember my FCC assigned call numbers - cost five bucks (when I made less than four bucks an hour) and is still a remembrance of government intrusion in my misspent youth.
