I know what you are saying, blarman. A lot of things can happen. I suspect if the leftists that run NYC are pushed harder they will not mend their ways and will go more commie than ever. IMHO, their hatred of Free America through the populist personality of Trump will burn hotter when they get stung by a bunch of free thinking truckers and their supporters. NYC lawfare, already proven to have teeth, will be aimed at those truckers and anyone on the MAGA list of "enemies". Let's see if they start burning down their own city. Let's see what NY State or the Fed does. Grab a BIG bag of popcorn.

Perhaps, but there is a current shortage of drivers (has been for four years now). Though there are some of the big companies (minus one - Yellow - which went under a few months ago) most are independent operators who can pick and choose the loads they carry. (I have worked for two transportation companies over the past 20 years and we saw rates go up significantly as a result of the shortage...) I wouldn't casually dismiss this. It's not a total blockade or boycott, but if you get enough drivers to simply take other jobs, shipping into New York will get really expensive really fast...

And given the shortage of truck drivers on the market, this isn't an idle threat. At a bare minimum, rates on loads to NY will go up.

Hopefully, if certain truckers have their way and their say the fuel shortage experience will be just around the corner. As I write this, today is the day the trucker boycott is supposed to start. Nice idea, but likely doomed to failure because there will be truckers that want the money, which there will likely be more of per load if a boycott actually takes place. I'm sure the commie government of NYC can eventually get illegals to drive for pennies, too.
