Another equivocating, half-fought war against terrorism reminiscent of Dem conduct of Korean, Vietnam wars against communist terror where Dem object was stalemate and negotiation with aggressors rather than victory

        Maybe I'm being a little too hard on Jimmy 1, though living through his four years and my comparing him to Reagan weened me from being a lib (most of that spawned by the Vietnam War). I'm a totally different person now.
        Jimmy I was good-hearted~~just incompetent as all hell.
        Jimmy II belongs in hell for being evil as hell. Period!
        I know as a Christian I shouldn't judge~~but damn! Some depraved souls are just so too obvious.

    Its all about the military industrial complex as warned by Eisenhower. For me its circle the wagons at home and be energy independent. The middle finger to the Middle East. Israel has the brains and know how to defend themselves. Inflict economic harm to Iran with meaningful sanctions. Close the border - set landmines at the entry points. Put up signs "You enter, you die."
    I am done busting my ass at work to see billions of tax dollars going to other countries. Nuke the swamp.

        The problem is that Iran threatens the flow of lawful commerce in the area. These actions by Iran and its proxies amount to piracy and someone has to step up. (Indeed by maritime law, the US is responsible for protecting its own ships even though few ships are actually registered out of the US due to our insane laws and charges for such...)

        It would be interesting if we had a CinC who was willing to do as Jefferson did with the Barbary pirates and send in the Marines to wipe out their coastal bases. But we don't have that kind of CinC nor do we have the weapons to do it since that same CinC has either abandoned many of them in Afghanistan or given them to Ukraine. It's a foreign policy muddle all the way around - as if they were intentionally trying to bring everything to chaos and destruction... Hmmm....
