How cheap postage from China is another UN bureaucratic scam - being paid by American Taxpayers

Excerpt:
"As Winston Sterzel says: Seriously? Why does it cost more to send a postcard to my neighbor than it does for a Company in China to send a package right across the world?
He explains how an old intergovernmental committee — the Universal Postal Union (UPU) — sets the rules so that rich nations subsidize the poor ones. Like all government committees it clings to a good idea for so many years it kills it. It was set up in 1874, and now in 2024, a nation with a space station is draining money from our postal systems and from our local jobs. What a rort…
Everyone paying for postage in the West is also paying the post for businesses in China to send cheap things which undermine local sellers. It is very difficult for a business using postal delivery to compete in the West — even in its own domestic market.
The UPU is — naturally — another subsidiary of the United Nations. What else do we need to know? It works as well as we’d expect any 150 year old unelected and unaccountable bureaucracy to work — like napalm on a free market.

The UPU motto now is “One World. One Postal Network.” They look, act and smell just like a larval world government.

It’s time to Exit the UN now."

Tell me about it! I (don't, can't) sell a 99c item on Ebay, because the guy from China sells it for 99c with FREE shipping and I have to pay $4.50 shipping. Who are you gonna buy from? Not only that, my stuff ends up unsold in the landfill, contributing to the environmental problems, while China pollutes the planet producing replacements for what should have been handed down here, while Chinese stuff piles up here.

At this point "target country" USA for being run by saps is far more economically failing "transitional" than the now powerful giant glutton called China.

I have a high regard for JoNova but I would have written:

In some countries, wages are (too) high due to corrupt union influence on gov. This goes with high tax rates.

Governments of those countries give money to another group, the poor suffering nations (eg China!). Transfer of money is via the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
The first group have struggling small business with high postal/shipping charges, small businesses who are competing against Chinese corporations who get cheap subsidized shipping rates.

So why would anybody get postage from China? --We should get and enforce an embargo from Communist China and the other totalitarian states also.

Wild guess, probably half or more of the sellers on eBay and Amazon are sellers with goods shipped from China.
Cut them off and eBay and Amazon profits will sink like they are in quicksand.
Given their corrupt influence in D.C., that won't happen until D.C. is crippled.
