I've suggested this movie to coworkers and friends and I can detect the "Oh...another shmaltzy Hollywood CGI mess..." Doesn't apply to this movie. Godzilla is likely the movie of the year and, like another movie I saw earlier this year (a kids movie I took my daughter to) this movie gives the middle finger the garbage that Hollywood is turning out. If you can see it on the big screen, do it.
