Interesting that possible blame for some fires and outages are placed on solar activity (yes, I believe it can happen). However, I wonder if anyone tried to collect data in an attempt to correlate an increase in residential and business fires to solar flare cycles and offered techniques on how to avoid such problems besides wrapping your whole house in foil.
