Giving Tuesday - Aaaaack! against Altruism

Giving Tuesday is the epitome of one of the things that Ayn Rand stood against most - altruism! My feeling about altruism is like Bill the Cat's from the 1980s cartoon Bloom County - Aaaaack! (from a hairball)

    Always found it strange to have come the day after cyber Monday and invented by the UN!!!

      That's because it was invented to try to play upon the emotions. "You just spent all that money for people you care about. Now its time for you to spend more money on people you don't have any connection to because if you don't you don't really care in the first place!" It's all manipulation.

    I am sorry for the people who really deserve a break, but I give to NOONE in this environment for any cause at all. I just don't trust what people say at this time in our country, and I would hate to see my work feeding leftist stuff. It bothers me that a lot of money is stolen from me as it is to go to leftist causes.

    I can no longer afford to donate to anything except the local cat shelter. They use the income to take very good care of the critters, but I will only donate as I wish, and to hell with Giving Tuesday.
