Wow. I have studied a lot about the Israel vs Arab problem, but I never knew about this. Also kind of puts a new twist on "Lawrence of Arabia".

“Remember, the goal was to divide the Arabs, not to unite them, divide them, so they could protect the trade routes,” Beck said. “They didn’t care about the Arabs, they didn’t care about the Jews, they didn’t care about anything. They wanted the trade routes.”

Let's analyze this anti-capitalist screed, shall we?
Britain and France want to protect trade routes... from whom? From what? Predations by the remnants of the Ottoman empire. These very same Arabs that Beck is crying over.

Trade is a good thing, isn't it?
Preying on the trade routes is initiating force, and therefore a bad thing, isn't it?

This is why we live in such dangerous times.

The libertarian/objectivist/conservative darling Glenn Beck, in his endless and occasionally insightful rhetoric also promotes the idea that everything that's wrong is our fault. "If we hadn't done x, then y wouldn't have happened". Discounting A through W that happened prior to x, such as the ottoman empire being a brutal and corrupt oligarchy stuck in the 7th century.

    I don't buy it.
When even your alleged front line "allies" use the subtle "blame the victim" tactics of your enemies, you're even more isolated and alone.

Glenn Beck has great skill in expressing ideas in clear and strong language, unfortunately he has poor understanding and in this case is wrong on substantially all points.

This reaffirms my belief that this, holy war has been going on for not just decades but centuries. Maybe since the beginning of the human race. I do believe it is much longer than any of us can possibly fathom.
