DeWit, who served as chief operating officer for former President Donald Trump’s 2016 and 2020 campaigns, resigned a day after conservative Arizona talk show host Garret Lewis published an audio recording of him purportedly offering Lake a job in exchange for her commitment not to run in the 2024 Arizona Senate race (the recording has not been independently verified by Forbes).

You can stream the old episodes with a good APK app on a Firestick or similar device....#2 was a "fluid" position which changed regularly....the remake (Caviezel) was not worthwhile, IMHO

It wasn't clear to me that this man was actually offering her a bribe. He was very suggestive but not nailing it as a real bribe offering person might do. Been there seen that!

DeWit proves that "Death By Darwin" is not the only punishment you can get for failing to adapt as well as your~~how should I put this?~~as well as your semi-successful species (since a bullying loud minority can now compel what appears to be a majority of chicken Schiffs to proclaim that men can give birth).
"This conversation never happened" reminds me of my 7 years as a newspaper reporter during the Seventies when at least 5 people would begin a sentence with "Don't quote me but--" that usually followed by some slander that would not get me in trouble for libel (written defamation) as long as I quoted my source.
Besides fantasizing these people for growing beaks and chicken feathers before my very eyes, I only quoted but one "Don't quote me but--" person..
Why? He was a lawyer talking about a case.
    To hell with conniving lawyers.
BTW, he said he would never talk to me again.
That didn't bother me any; and as far as I know, he never entered politics as many lawyers do.
    He would have fit in.

I'm curious who didn't want her to run. No sane Republican would put up with a Democratic Secretary of State who rigs the election in her own favor to get elected.

They're 2 sides of the same corrupt coin.

Back in the late 60s, there was a superb British TV show called "The Prisoner", starring David McGoohan.
He was a spy who abruptly quit, and was bundled off to an idyllic-looking village that was actually a prison for people who knew too much. People from both sides of the Cold War, I might add.

You are assigned a number, no names allowed.
He was number 6. The wonderful Leo McKern was number 2, the man who ran the Village.
They met up one morning, and this is the conversation that ensued:

No. 2: “There are people who talk and people who don't, which means some people leave this
place and some who do not leave.”

No. 6: “You are obviously staying. You're just as much a prisoner as I am.”

No 2: “Of course, I know too much - we're both lifers.
I am an optimist. It doesn't matter who Number One is.
It doesn't matter which side runs the Village.
    It's run by one side.
But both sides are becoming identical.
What has been created is an international community, a blueprint for world order.
When both sides realise they're the same, they'll see this is the pattern for the future.”

No 6: “The whole earth as the Village?”

No 2: “That is my hope.”

    I agree, Thor.
When these deals are actually punished severely, they will stop, and not before.
He resigned. BFD. He'll just take a job for 7-figures with a corrupt pharma company as a conspirator to treason.

Kari says she cant be stopped.....

But i'm reminded of this quote from AS:

"Any man can be stopped, Mr. Rearden." "How?" "It's only a matter of knowing man's motive power."

Who cares? Did anyone think deals like this don't happen every single day? Don't even know why he resigned.
