All wars before that time appear to have been what we now call 1st generation wars, meaning the purpose was to wipe out as many of the opposing side as possible, and most soldiers weren't paid except in opportunities to rape, loot, and pillage.
It doesn't matter if you are Jewish, Christian, or Ashiest Islam calls for your death. Heck they even kill one another for slight differences in how they believe. So the few peaceful Muslims are in just as much danger as the rest of the world from Islam.
The ting that I find incredibly laughable is when people of the alphabet community want to support Islam. Muslims are people that would happily throw gays off a roof because of their sexuality and gays support Muslims.

The automatic I think you're talking about is the M1911, which was the US Army issue officers' pistol from WW1 until about 1970. It was designed by John Moses Browning, in response to a request that arose in the Philippine Insurrection after the Spanish-American War. There, we fought the native Moros, who I don't think were Muslim, but who were tough to put down because they would get high before going into battle. So the Army asked Browning for a round that would knock a man off a horse. That round was the .45 ACP, not the same as the .45 Colt.
And as allosaur denotes, below, the Phillipine Moros were mostly Muslim and it was their fanaticism, along with drugs, that made them particularly difficult to put down.
The reason for those battles, in the Philippines, were primarily due to Muslim vs. Christian beliefs and little else. It was an old movie, about the battle(s), where a Moro was threatened with a pig skin, that keyed me into the Muslim connection.

Me dino was trained to shoot the M1911 on Parris Island during 1969. Instructor said the .45 ACP is supposed to knock people down. The Thompson "Tommy" Gun fires the same round. Seen people get riddled with Tommy Gun bullets in movies, including The Godfather, before falling down. Guess that's show biz but I'm not 100% sure. I only shot holes through paper targets.

Islam is a particularly bad one, because it is generally enshrined in government law. Some would argue to do the same with other religions, and nothing good can come of any of it.
