I think formalized sucession is necessary, otherwise you are still under the thumb of the federal government, which in most states, is more onerous than the state government.

Give us one state, it can be Rhode Island, I don't care, and we'll show them what freedom is all about and what it can lead to.

Let's get going is a great idea SLL. Do you suppose that we could get enough people together just prior to an election to take control of the state, thereby making it possible to vote for change. Hmmm. Long shot but possible.

The big problem is not state by state, it's large cities versus the rural part of the state.

Quick, somebody invite all the secessionists to the Texas Gulch.
Arguably, Texas is the only state big enough and welcoming enough to hold 75 million strikers. It would take about 6 million to immigrate there for a secessionist majority in Texas if polls are correct. (Not that the secessionists would agree on anything else ;^)
