"he Competency Crisis Strikes Again
A recurring theme we've discussed here is the dangerous decline in competence in America that stems from a lie: that every group is equal in average abilities, so that any disparities in test results are the result of racism or sexism. That's led to a reduction in objective testing, more affirmative action, and more incompetent people elevated to positions where they can do real damage.
We've previously looked at how this insidious problem has impacted medicine (The End of Civilization) and aviation (The Next Affirmative Action Disaster). In that second post, we noted we've already had an affirmative action cargo plane crash, and asked if an affirmative action passenger crash was next. "

My recent trip to Maine was my last for a long long time. We’ll be taking the train for future trips that I don’t want to drive. Part of the advantage of a shrug job is not having to rush about.
Sure I could die in a fiery train crash and tunnel collapse but generally speaking the infrastructure was designed and built by people who weren’t confused about which bathroom to use. And I have feet to walk but no wings too fly.
20 years ago I experienced a “near miss” at McCarran (Why did they rename it after a scumbag like Reid?!) I was looking out the window as we turned onto the active for departure. Immediately I could tell that we didn’t have enough separation from the flight that was on final. I’m guessing he was between the Outer and Middle markers. Which considering the amount of inertia a wide body has is just too damn close. Just as I said this to my traveling companion the pilot firewalled the throttles and dove off on the next taxiway. He then came on the intercom and said exactly what I had said. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. I’m much more comfortable flying in a fabric covered single engine. Generally speaking the equipment isn’t as much a concern as the people operating it.
Let's assume for illustration purposes that a given is all races have a bell curve ranging from the most incompetent to the most competent with the most populous representation in the middle, hence a "bell", and all the race curves will naturally be roughly the same. Also, let's assume within the US the black population is roughly 15% and the white population is roughly 65%. Therefore, if a large number of government agencies and private businesses want a "woke diversity" mix containing 20% or more of black employees then they MUST reach into the incompetent side of the curve to fill black positions because the black population isn't large enough to offer all competent employees to fill that many positions. Add to that education and social systems that allow (or actually encourage) a decrease in competency training and the peak population of the curve shifts towards the incompetent leaving an even smaller pool of competent potential employees. Problems are inevitable.
