Buydem Admin. Just Outlawed Trucks - D.C. NIFO

Excerpt:
"The federal regulatory apparat – which has become an unelected legislature – has just decreed that there will be no new trucks by less than a decade from now.

“Decreed” in italics because that is precisely what has just happened.

No law was passed, but last week, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (note the blasé bureaucratic terminology; it is just an “administration,” ands yet it does a great deal more than merely administering) decreed that by 2032, new vehicles must average at least 58 miles-per-gallon.

As of today, there isn’t single new car available that can comply with this decree. “Comply” in italics to mark the outrageousness of the “administration” of such decrees, which no one in this “democracy” of ours ever had a chance to vote for – or against."
-------------------------------------------------------
58 mpg DEMANDED by a bureaucracy that has no power to do so.
But the FAKE accepted mpg of a TINY electric vehicle might achieve 58mpgE because the unelected tyrannical bureaucrats say it does.
And IF WE, the People don't resist, THAT is the end of gasoline vehicles and the end of free travel in America for We, the People.
These are unconstitutional actions by traitors who want tyrannical powers over all of US.
I will NOT comply. I will NOT consent.
D.C. is a corrupt tyranny that can't be peacefully reformed.

I am disgusted with the lying to make something appear efficient. No one will include the power loss of pushing electrons down 1000 miles of copper power cables. It is so stupid that driving a gasoline car produces less CO2 than driving a Tesla does! IF ALL FACTORS are taken into account. Liars!!!

So driving home from a road trip yesterday I saw a Tesla with its hazard lights on, sitting at an intersection exit from a highway (15 North) in California. Guess it ran out of "juice". It was 115 outside so the driver was probably running the AC and assumed there would be a charging station nearby. Nope. How does one summon "roadside electricity" for a stranded Tesla or EC?

The dino waits for the Biden Crime Family to be outlawed along with grooming and mutilating little kids and bullying people into wearing the Yoke of the Woke.
But having reached the age of 76 I have learned that I do not necessarily get the things I hopefully wait for.
I did not list Marxist Jackass Demonrats and traitor RINOs because I do not believe they are ever going away.

I love my 85 hp boxer airplane motor. It's such a simple cute little engine. It looks just like a COX model airplane motor with 4 cylinders. They are very inefficient, a trade off for making them reliable and safe. They will outlaw these too. I will not comply. But they will just take it away from me. I will bury the engine in a vault hidden somewhere underground for someone to find someday and be amazed and inspired by it's simplistic beauty...

The Aeronca Champ is my favorite - like a cub only better because it can be soloed from the front seat :-)

Right! That's basically why I chose it. There's a YT video AvWeb Champ vs. Cub. In 7 minutes I knew Champs rule Cubs don't. Although the Cub has the cathedral ceiling and folding half doors, that's what got me considering the Cub. But they're all 10K more and have spent engines. Can't see you're s-turning taxiing and landing on boingy bungees and with peripheral vision only. But they do have a cute teddy bear on the tail :D

My dad's first airplane was a Champ. Then went to a Citaboria. I soloed in a 150 Areobat but got my tailwheel sign off in a 42 Cub.

That getting a tail wheel sign off is interesting. I learned to fly in a 1940 Cub while stationed in Okinawa in 1965. We call that 'conventional gear' as opposed to the 'tricycle gear' on more modern a/c. It did not occur to me until years later that people who learned in a tricycle would have a problem transitioning to conventional gear and have to have a sign off to fly one.

So, if you have a nice car in good shape, hang onto it so you can sell it for a fortune after all this goes into effect!

Perhaps buy a second one like the first to use for parts.
(Who will have the 'funds' to buy your car? It may have more value in your hands.)

Funny; I've just been texting with my son about buying my husband's Toyota Tacoma. It's 17 years old and still a GREAT truck. But hubby's thinking hybrid Avalon. I know I'll never sell/trade in my hybrid Lexus.

I'm looking for 20th century diesel powered cars
          (although 2000-2012 is ok, too.)
As long as there are fast food fryers there is potential fuel if needed.

Get an old mechanical injected turbo diesel. 7.3 Ford (Internationals) are awesome. Mech Inj 2.0 VW's are excellent as well.

Although I am not offended by electric vehicles, I can not stomach this unfounded use of totalitarian force.

I just sold my Father's 2001 Mazda Miata convertible standard shift. For a lot over blue book value. Still kicking myself. Especially in light of epautos post. There are only 27? standard models left. Dammit that car was fun.

Probably good, but I don;'t have familiarity with them.

Mazda has a great diesel now, but won't import it to the US. Toyota 3.0 diesels are all over the world.

I'm not a Toyota fanboy. Think they are overrated, mainly due to complete BS printed by Consumer Reports, who are nothing but a paid advertiser.

When I lived in Australia/NZ I owned 2 Toyota Hiace Vans that had been imported from Japan as used cars.
(Most cars in NZ are used Japanese imports.) One was diesel, one petrol. Both were satisfactory for my needs.
I've been driving Mazda sports cars almost constantly from 1978 to date (except for part of the time living overseas.)
I've no experience with their diesel engines and can't import the new ones.
To protect the looting scum at GM and Ford, no one can import any used car from overseas to the US until it is 25 years old.
Thanks again corrupt Deep State Fedgov.

Looks like a decent engine. Call these guys:
                    https://automotorpad.com/toyota/19219...
                    ;)

                    https://tfltruck.com/2021/07/toyota-c...

Toyota irritatingly got behind hydrogen, which makes absolutely no sense. This really irritated me. They have had to eat those words, along with BMW and Mercedes. Back to physics and reality. Separately people's ridiculous claims about their reliability drive me nuts. My sister in laws stupid boring Camry died with a failed water pump, and then cracked head. That statistic will never get recorded by bought-and-paid Consumer Reports.

They are fine, nothing special. Last company to get rid of carburetors, with their "awesome" Japanese technology. I like that they held on to inline six's and independent rear wheel drive longer than others (exc. BMW), and their torsion bar suspensions on small trucks.

My brother's wife drive a lot. 350K miles on her Chrysler 300C. Replaced because it was old, ran fine. My 1990 Mustang ran perfectly with 270K miles. Absolutely, no problems. Cars fail these days because you don't take care of them or you buy a stupid model. Modern engines run longer than you want the unmaintainable interior and body, if you take care of them.

We have a couple of first-generation Dodge Cummins pickups. At Walmart a fellow said to me, "That's a 92, right? I had one of those, but like an idiot i sold it. Wanna sell me yours?"

My answer: "Do I look like an idiot?"

Really, really, good diesel engines!!! not so crazy about the trucks (at least the new ones, the old square ones were cool). People put them in Fords and call them Frummins.

My only diesel is a Kubota 3-cyl in my Walker Mower. Indestructible! Sometimes I run it on vegetable oil I get from people here and there. Smells like french fries while mowing.

Rudolph Diesel was quite an inventor. He proposed farmers operate his engines from vegetable oil they grow, His first demonstrations in Paris were with peanut oil. Had financial issues, and disappeared crossing the English Channel in a boat. No one knows what happened.

I'm hoping to find something that will not be affected by an EMP event, therefore looking for older then 1970. Somewhere in the 1970's (I think) manufacturers started adding electronics to meet emission standards. Electronic fuel injection systems are particularly vulnerable because of the electronic controls. I think new battery dependent cars will be useless in the event of an EMP event.

I've been looking for a pre 1970 car but maybe I'm thinking incorrectly. Why not buy a battery car and help speed the decline of modern civilization. We know if even 25% of us bought battery cars the electric grid would implode and all things electric would stop.

    Is that Timing any accident?
Gen X (me) will be retired when this happens.
This is really against the Millennials and Gen Z.
Now, millenials Will actually be ~ 40ish
And they will likely buy their LAST Trucks of their functional life around then.

So, this is 100% targeted at Gen Z and later.
The same generations that have been brainwashed about Climate Change their whole lives. Who have "Living Guilt" because humans are destroying this earth.

    Seems odd, no?

"And they will likely buy their LAST Trucks of their functional life around then." Yeah, I don't really believe that. Trucks are FAR too functional for people in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, etc., to actually give in to that crap. I don't know exactly what they'll do, but trucks are NOT a "fun" accessory out in the country. They are absolutely necessary.

Well, being someone who has kept 3 vehicles for 20+yrs after the date they were made (bought 2 used)... And I hope to keep this one (9yrs old, for the rest of my life)...

I could see them hanging onto those trucks from their 40s - 60s.

Unlike EVs, and ICE can be well-maintained for a long time.

Also, the incompetence of our government, and any reasonable Texas governor... Will likely find a way around it... Including making quadruple the inventory in the last year... And then just selling them as new...

But we should be fighting this. But it's almost as if the people pushing insanity are purposefully having the media IGNORE IT, to scream at the top of their lungs about "distractions" like Tucker alluded to... (Strange.... Or... Planned...)

Same as defunding schools (which should NEVER have needed Federal funding).

    https://hotair.com/jazz-shaw/2023/07/...
    https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/hu...

Now we all pay to teach children there are no boundaries of gender and the country was founded on racism, while oppressing hard work and merit.

Totalitarianism, reeducation of the populace using taxpayer money, ALL enabled by the 16th Amendment, the worst, most egregious disaster this country has seen.

The good news is we have no need to defend against China (Russia is a pathetic paper tiger, with a bunch of real men, BTW). We can just merge with China, and eliminate all threats ... to individuals. The only fun thing about this, when it happens will be watching the stream of joyous little "liberal" parasites, be herded off to mines and factories (particularly sexual deviants), while everyone on this site is murdered in their homes.

A coal or natural gas powered automobile is still using hydrocarbon fuels. Emitting beautiful CO 2 our plants and trees love and need to flourish. That said, all the Deep State criminality in the world is not going to steal our beloved pickups from the hands of honest hardworking patriots that allow this country function at its most fundamental level.
The criminal retard who stole the 2020 election must go. Don’t care how. Our survival as a people and a nation depends on his immediate removal.

    E. P. nails it again. Unelected bureaucrats mantra: Politicians come and go but we are here forever.

This is why it's so hard to identify who's in charge in the WH. It's a hydra of bureaucrats.

One of my F-250s is for sale right now. Maybe it’s time to mothball it so 10 years from now I can point and laugh.
The Big Rig guys figured out how to get around stuff like this. Called GLIDERS. You southern truck owners need to start striking deals with us northerners. You got good chassis. We got good drivetrains. Let’s make a deal.
