On September 11th, it is altogether fitting and proper to remember this man.

Thanks. First time I heard about Rick Rescorla and his bravery.

My pleasure. He was director of security for Morgan Stanley and stationed on the 44th floor lobby of Tower Two when the first plane hit the north tower. As the south tower began evacuating, building security got on the PA to advise everyone to return to their offices as the building was secure. Rescorla heard this, got on his bullhorn, and ordered all Morgan Stanley employees to leave immediately. Morgan was the largest tenant, nearly all employees (2000) survived, including five of my trainees on the 63rd floor.
