The prevailing idea prior to this new evidence was that Burisma execs wanted to find some way to bribe Buythem (Sr) to exert pressure on Ukrainian gov to get prosecutor fired so there would be no investigation of Burisma. Biden confirmed in video of a Council on Foreign Relations discussion that he in fact succeeded in getting the prosecutor fired before an investigation of Burisma could be initiated. But the circumstances behind the prosecutor’s firing now appear more sinister.
