I don't believe in the following:
that the mask did any good.
that climate change is human, cow, farmer, oil, coal , or industry produced.
that women can become men or men can become women.
that firearms arms are a problem other than in the hands of criminals.
that academics are intelligent.
that the Swamp knows what's good for the people.

Having worked in "science" at MIT for 35 years I can say without exception:
Whoever provides the funds, gets what they pay for. That, or the funding dissipates like smoke on a windy day.
"Science" is an industry. Once you grasp that concept, all the lies begin to make sense.

If this has not yet been mentioned, may I add the simple fact that "the" science is never "in"? It is the very nature of the physical and social sciences that all answers lead to more questions, Thus nothing in science is ever settled.

A simple example of your truism about making any stat say anything you want. Assume Jim and Fred are in a race; they're the only two competitors. Also assume Jim beats Fred in the race. Fred can tell all his friends "I finished second, and Jim finished next to last." He would be 100% correct with his statement, even though it wouldn't reflect reality.
