This would otherwise be an edition of the "Far Side"...but it's not my brand, not my copyright.

Still laughing, because we see this stuff all the time. Sometimes it's real but most times it's not or at least only part of the story.
It struck me funny so I put it in . . .that's my story and I'm sticken with it.

Slings and arrows, my friend, slings and arrows.

Won't we both feel a little odd whence we [might] find out some time in the future that it was a part of the show and we both, for different reasons, put the popcorn down.

We are on a website dedicated to Objectivist philosophy and we are talking about potential future Presidents of the United States of America, and I am not allowed to be serious?

I'm scratching my head here. Please don't make the presumption that I'm incapable of humor - boy do you not know me at all - but at the same time, let's not fall into the intellectual sleight-of-hand of excusing a smear on the basis of "Oh, it's only a joke, heh-heh." As I clearly said right above this, there's some heavy-duty belly-laughs in this bunch, and for that I owe you thanks and (if you find yourself in the vicinity of LA,) I owe you beer, or better yet, a Zombie or Blood-and-Sand or Ooga-Booga at the famed Tiki-Ti on Sunset. (I'm serious - if you ever come to LA give me a holler and I will buy the first round. The Tiki-Ti may be as small as a kitchen but it's epic.) But there is absolutely nothing funny about this one, sorry.

It's a smear. And when I see a smear, particularly when it's a smear of an exemplary politician - even if he's philosophically inconsistent - I'm gonna call it out.

Waaaay tooooo serious about a meme that only shows the lack of attention to one's associations, Laughing, if anything, an OH YEA! to a comment about being aware of the associations of others.

Not so easy to keep track of those things. One of the many dangers in politics.

The meme caught me off guard and made me laugh the first time I saw it but in reality, to add, it's like the ultimate come back: "Oh Yea, your daddy buys bud lite at Target!.
    LMAO

Lots of funny stuff this time - the Klaatu Bidenata Nikto enabled me to reverse-clean my sinuses with my caffeine drink, but...

The third-to-last is a classic Poisoning The Well smear on DeSantis that maybe works as a great lesson on... the Poisoning The Well fallacy - but zilch on substance.

It tries a guilt-by-association maneuver on the basis that one of his fundraisers is allegedly a lobbyist for Moderna, another is allegedly a lobbyist for BudLight / AB, and then something incoherent about "a sanctioned Chinese company," etc. etc.

First off, as anyone with a grasp of principle should understand, one's actions are the only true litmus test of one's character. Not mere words, and most definitely not cheap Logic 101 flunky potshots. I'm hoping this GGO site has not deteriorated in quality to the point where that grasp of principle and judgment no longer describes a majority of its members. So in context of action: Each one of these smears is painfully easy to debunk with simple reference not only to DeSantis' concrete, undisputable actions but to the fact that DeSantis has been virtually the only one of the people who dare call themselves Republican "leaders" who actually has taken concrete action on these issues. To pick just one news item at random on each of them:

    - The Wuhan Hypochondemic, a.k.a. "Covid-19/20/21/22/23, etc." and vaccine companies like Moderna: In November 2021 DeSantis signed legislation to abolish the Wuhan mandates:
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2...

    - On the entire Wokewashed phenomenon and all of the bizarre garbage that's surfaced in it's wake, DeSantis is the only Republican to date who's taken, again, concrete action - his "Stop Woke Act":
    https://www.theguardian.com/commentis...

    - He's been one of the most outspoken critics of China in American politics:
    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2...
    and
    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/desa...
    and
    https://floridapolitics.com/archives/...

A smear is not a substitute for a valid argument. And even a persuasive smear probably needs some preliminary research, I'm thinking, so that it doesn't blow right back into the smearer's face. Trying to paint DeSantis as a friend of the Wuhan subjugation-opportunists, of the Wokewashed, or of Communist China, is an effort so patently absurd that it's difficult to keep a straight face on.

It's time to recognize that we may have better options in a Presidential candidate than the guy who sat on his hands for four years while the Wuhan global-totalitarianism-dress-rehearsal, election fraud, "wokeism" and the rise of the Talibantifa types festered right in front of him. That, folks, is a track record. And stacked up against the positive, concrete steps that DeSantis has done as a simple Governor, it's a tad lopsided from where I sit. So to each his own. A critical analysis of a candidate is not only good but essential. But if it's 100% contrary to known fact it's just... a smear.

    I like the last one.

"Openness and transparency" will shrivel the Deep State. like sunlight on a vampire.

As long as every single document in Washington DC is "classified" and "mishandling" "classified documents" is a felony, America will continue to be at the mercy of a cadre of leftist vampires sucking the life, liberty and freedom out of America.

    As a computer scientist...
If we know that Instagram was connecting these people. And instagram had contact details.
    IP Addresses. Potential Recordings.

On what planet are these people NOT EASILY rounded up and charged.
If nothing else, they should be deeply monitored.

This is ENOUGH detail to go to a judge and say:
    - This network is self-identifying. We are removing anyone who did NOT actively click/communicate.
    - We have identified ALL of them. Their Cell Phones/Emails. We want a warrant to cross reference ALL of their GPS data to find out if they've ever hung out together. And who else they are connected to?
    - Then we will turn on their microphones when they are together and listen in.

With that, we intend to clean house...

Oh, and we removed Schiff, Nadler, and Graham from the list, since they were probably just monitoring things for us...

    ==
Honestly though. You could build a pretty good case about these people.
then they likely shared stuff over the internet. You know what to look for.
You turn one or two of them, to find out how they hide/encrypt this crap.
But you get THOUSANDS of these people off the streets (and out of public office!)

Me dino quite sure such a taste for a culinary delight depends upon each extraterritorial species.
Fortunately, it's alleged at least one intergalactic visitor only wants to probe us to study what we eat instead of putting us as a choice on a menu.
It could well be we are considered interesting to study but too dangerous to mess with overmuch for our intellect being outweighed by a passion for stupidity.
Do we not have a new female supreme court justice who has at least been intimidated by our latest wacko fad into stating that she does not know what a woman is?
Not to mention grooming and mutilating immature children for a sex change being okay in various place.
Yes, perhaps we as a whole just plain tastes bad because as a whole our logic can so badly suck.
Such things would explain ET's elusive bobbing in and out of our atmosphere.
There's just something about stink bugs and skunks that makes ET want to play keep away when they come to our particular watering hole.

Morning laugh thanks. The last one reminded me of some Incan history where sex abusers were punished by handing them by their genitals off the side of a cliff until they fell(pedophiles) for the condors. History is from a book, Letter To A King...
