Aldi's grocer (FEED STORE) in the UK, for now

Apparently a full roll out of the Aldi's feed store plan is going on in England. It just made it's presence here in Phoenix and, I can only assume, it will mature into a full blown nanny state trough for the weak minded, no-willed, animals who are the descendants of americans. This is literally the mark of the beast. Cold day in hell. I starve first.

This is a short story out of fallacies of vision.

Thanks for the info re Krogers and their acquisitions. I live in Arizona and shop at Food City. It is often frequented by Spanish Speaking Americans, the selection is good, prices reasonable and they have individual people as the checkers.

Are we interested in an APP that lets you share ONE ALDI App world wide?

Guys, I am not sure how this thing works. But technically, I could setup an Android Device that is running the ALDI App.

    And via some screensharing technologies...
I could create a web-page that you refresh, and it shows you the current screen (with QR Code).

You scan that instead of the App (depending on how they set it up).

It sounds like I could use this tech for MANY such applications. (Could I reasonable ask for a one time fee of like $5 to cover the initial setup?)

    Thoughts?

We need a quick and easy DISABLING feature.

I am thinking of one of those pointy glass breakers attached to the front of my phone, so when I go to scan it, it ACCIDENTALLY shatters the glass...

Maybe some crazy glue to cover the camera/distort the image.

Once again, this is one of those things that could be fixed by 10,000 patriots. If it shows up here, enlist the help of a few people WILLING to be banned for life.

The goal should be to QUICKLY Disable the equipment. Keep the cost < $1,000 (Clearly).

Maybe something as simple as spray painting them. Or crazy gluing a connector in the charging port. Preferably one that shorts the unit out.

Oh, and Add a BLM sticker for good measure. So it gets included with any new coverage!

Agree completely. If there are enough sources to acquire what’s needed it’s harder to be deprived of or gouged for the good/service.

But in the age of absurd idiocy why should this truism be noticed/adhered to?

Our defense is COMPETITION. As long as I can find a food store that doesn't do these ALDI things, I will shop there and NOT shop ALDI

When Covid was active, we lived in Oklahoma, which has no Kroger or Kroger associate from state line to state line. So we missed out on their draconian measures during that time (though Sprouts, not an actual competitor, made up for Kroger's lack in the state.) As I recall, Sprouts called the police on anyone who suggested they might not want to wear a mask inside their stores.

Kroger's never been my FAVORITE store but it has been nice to have it as an option once we moved back to Texas.

Kroger operates as Fry's in Tucson, (and as you say is trying to acquire Safeway and Albertson's). I much prefer competition. Way better for the buyers.

Nope. A2 makes half and half, but does NOT sell heavy cream (or we would already buy it). They of course also sell regular milk but we don't drink regular milk.

Add to that how Kroger has bought out and is still buying their competitors. Bashas, Smiths, Smittys, Mega foods and Abco have all been absorbed by Kroger.

Recall the Covid measures at Kroger (I was kicked out 2x), remember Kroger’s purchase quotas, Kroger’s toilet paper regulation , and Krogers attempt to stop people from giving or getting coin change. More, Kroger has been actively trying to buy Albertsons and Safeway for quite some time.

    Where are the monopoly laws???

In many places Kroger is a passive cleat on peoples throats, until it decides not to be passive anymore and applies pressure.

I buy heavy cream and cut it with milk when I want half-n-half. Heavy cream doesn't spoil as fast either, and I can make fresh whipped cream with it, too. Maybe you can find that from A2?

Well, that's not good. Kroger is the main grocery store in/near Tucson. Plus they have the ONE thing we can't find reasonably anywhere else: A2 half and half. Bummer.

Yes. Kroger was what I had left. LIDL went all RAINBOW this month. I feel for Aldi as their business model, limited employees, has made them a target for the shoplifters here. They hired useless security guards that aren't allowed to chase the thief. What do you do between a rock and a hard place?

This is distressing. I've loved Aldi's, and have one close to me....but we are moving to Tucson at the end of this week, and have recently discovered that Phoenix (southern suburbs) is the nearest location.

And then, this. #AJAshinoff - are you telling me you have to have the app to enter the store in Phoenix? OMG no! I am 100% stopping my obsession with Aldi's. Hubby and I had already planned visits to Phoenix to get the stuff we love there....but this is a big no. Will never set our feet inside that door if this is what we have to do. Hubby is more obsessed with this sort of thing than even I am. ETA: I'm FINE with self check. I am NOT FINE with downloading an ID app before I even set foot in the store.

Say it ain't so! (Or let me know if it is.....this is distressing!)

👍 As they appear so will they lose customers to local groceries.
ALDI is the latest on my list after Trader Joe and Kroger went to woke hell.
Still 3 regional grocers here who haven't sold out.

I shop at Aldi's often enough. I like it. However, if they start this crap where I live I will shop elsewhere. Recently, a couple of Aldi's near me have taken out a number of human checkouts and replaced them with self checkouts. I still use the human checkout and pay cash. When that's gone I will shop elsewhere.

Yes, I have to admit things are coming to a point there will be no "elsewhere" to get away from this crap. That will be a bad day in the new hell.

it is bigger than one company. This is what they have been leading to. A degree of control where you will not be able to buy, sell or trade without the mark of the beast. Looking at society today one cannot deny the cancerous evil inherent in government at every level that permeates into media and our schools, and into our homes?
