I would run the bear down with my truck... Then I would throw him in the back and later make a nice rug for the fireplace with his hide.. :) Then I would sit by the fire and eat his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti... Halloween is coming after all!
that was good. I see that it is to remind drivers to look out for cyclists. My issue in urban areas where cycling is encouraged as city transportation (apart from bike trails, cycling for training on the open roads) cyclists behave as though they have the protection of an auto. The auto driver is prepared to look out for pedestrians obeying crossing walks-but certainly we have all been in situations where a pedestrian darts out onto the road. This is how I defensively drive in urban areas where cycling is happening. they often behave as a darting pedestrian-weaving between traffic, oblivious to slowing vehicles, etc. I would say cycling deaths-on the increase since the adoption of urban rent a bike programs btw- are responsible for their own accidents at least the same amount as the motorist. so why are the motorists getting the awareness announcement? I'm cranky today so I'm going to take on mountain bikers as well. You don't own the trail! stop your damned bike when you run close to hikers instead of yelling "On your left!" like you own the trail! and while I'm at it-all hosepeople using the trails and ruining them with double tracks should have to do twice as much trail upkeep projects as the rest of us or give me a good horse. that is all.
I thought John would catch that. I work in a small town and have discussed cyclists with many customers. Most believe bikes have the same right to the road as cars. I tell them they don't because they don't pay registration fees and don't have to pass a test to ride. I don't mind sharing the road but manyt in our area don't obey road signs. It can be dangerous.
my husband and I are recumbent owners-so low to the ground and hard to see. over my dead body was the only way I'd sport one of those flags on the back of the bike
I did NOT write that sentence incorrectly...you're reading it wrong. Okay...I probably maybe should have put "on it" in front of "with a black sharpie", but sometimes I just write like I speak. Get your cards yet...ya pain in the ass? (See...sometimes i just write what I'm thinking.)
you would have to be crazy to ride one of those bikes where I live. I stick to mountain biking on sand roads. I have thought about making cards and putting the link to the translated version of AS.
That was pretty impressive... I've driven in London (and my stepdaughter, who lives there, rides a bike almost everywhere) it's a SCARY experience... and no, I'm not talking about driving on the left part, but the general disarray of everyone everywhere - I think the ad (surprisingly good to come out of a socialist gub'mint) hit home. And may save lives.
Mmmm Mmmm good. I couldn't believe I completely missed it the first time. The problem we have here(I'm in western PA) is that few bikers obey the rules of the road. Many go thru stop signs and don't signal. Dangerous out there.
You should try the SF bay area, and their Critical Mess stuff... go out on bikes to deliberately obstruct traffic, and then do gang violence on anyone who may try to edge their way through their blockade. It's no wonder that the same region spawned this whole violent Occupy stuff... then again, Oakland isn't known for being in the top 10 of safest communities in America...
I must add that "FEWER Than 1%" is arguably the more correct expression. It is arguable by idiom and some history. The formal style guides, such as Chicago, say "fewer."
When you take the insurance company to court for denying your claim to pay for your car when you slammed into four cars at a red light a strong case would be “I was watching a moon walking bear” it’s a slam dunk. Better just stick to the old fashioned “Watch where you’re going.”
It was ruined for me because I learned the answer in a psychology class and then saw the prototype or paradigm experiment with a different set of players and subject.
That is an example of how classroom learning is superior to life experience.
If you're riding on the sidewalk and maintaining sidewalk speeds (5mph), it's better to ride against traffic and obey the rules for pedestrians.
If you're riding on the road, you have to obey the traffic laws for vehicles.
Bicycles are a special vehicle in the eyes of the law in that you go back and forth between pedestrian and vehicle, and you can drive them as a vehicle without a license.
it might rub off
What are you saying? You are evil enough? :)

"Whether the stone hits the pitcher or the pitcher hits the stone... it's going to go badly for the pitcher".
I see, stream of consciousness. I've heard of that. A type of glossolalia, I would think.
Now, how's about some homemade bear stew?

Now they're teaching kids to ride their bikes with traffic, because retard.
