IRS caught in the act trying to intimidate a congressional witness. DC Can't be Reformed. DC Is Utterly Corrupt. Secession Is The Only Peaceful Solution.

Excerpt:
"Sometimes the hubris and self-delusion just goes too far...

It has been eleven years since Lois Lerner presided over (and then apologized for) the IRS targeting of conservatives during the 2012 election.

But her "inappropriate... error of judgment" may just have been turned up to '11' as during the day when independent journalist Matt Taibbi was in Washington DC delivering testimony to the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government on March 9, an IRS agent visited his home in New Jersey, leaving a note demanding he contact the agency within four days.
...
The bigger question on everyone's minds (most of all Rep. Jordan) is simple - since when did the IRS dispatch agents for surprise house calls? Is this the new $80 billion budget being well spent to 'send a message' to a reporter telling the truth?

The coincidental timing of this unannounced IRS agent visit prompted Rep. Jordan to write to IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, demanding answers:

"In light of the hostile reaction to Mr. Taibbi’s reporting among left-wing activists, and the IRS’s history as a tool of government abuse, the IRS’s action could be interpreted as an attempt to intimidate a witness before Congress. We expect your full cooperation with our inquiry.""

DC is beyond reform. NIFO.

The USA, once the land of the free, and home of the brave, has now become a Banana Republic.

Precisely. Banana Republic tactics are in brazen bullying use in the once free USA now.
Biden's Constitution-shredding control freak wild bunch (senile Joe's handlers. the DOJ, IRS, Antifa, BLM, the Woke group think cancel culture, et als) are all out to manipulate and control the USA citizenry with fear.

Taxman abuses of the American citizenry has been around for decades. It's all a bureaucracy flexing its totalitarian muscles to justify its existence in a supposedly free country. As the commies increase their grip on the nation these abuses are going to get a lot worse and a lot more visible to instill more fear and gain more control. Between the income tax commies and the property tax fascists things are going to get much worse as the various government bureaucracies inflate themselves (and the rest of us) out of money.

In my perfect world the tax schema would be simple: non-existent. No federal income taxes of any kind. "Corporate" taxes are nothing of the kind as corporations price in the taxes before they put their goods to market. And personal income taxes were 100% shunned by the Founders because they knew what a chilling effect it would have on commerce. The other little-known side-effect is that then you have carve-outs for "charities" that prevent them from using their free speech in order to maintain their tax-exempt status and thereby preventing them from participating in the public arena of ideas. In my world, there would be a complete repeal of the Seventeenth Amendment.

Now I know that people say "well where is the Federal Government going to come up with its money?" That is quite simple. The first thing we do is place excise taxes (tariffs) in imported goods and we rescind "most favored nation" status from any country which has a government other than a fully representative one. (Yes, that means Europe gets rescinded as well as China. Pretty much it means almost every other nation on the planet.) This is the way our nation operated until 1917 and we managed to get along pretty well. Why? Because Congress had to be very careful about not making tax rates too high or they would discourage international trade. It was a great independent feedback mechanism.

The other method - which is completely Constitutional - is to levy the individual states based on their Census population (apportionment) and leave it up to the States to come up with the money. This would fit hand-in-hand with the funding of the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government - which shouldn't be up to them. They represent their individual States and should be financed by their individual States with full audits available to their State Legislatures. None of this nonsense where they get put on a different insurance plan than everyone else simply because they vote for it!

Do this and you effectively eliminate the need for the IRS entirely. Everything flows into Customs - which has the side-effect of encouraging border integrity - or into Treasury who can monitor payments by the States and publicly announce those who are late on their payments.

👍 And complete repeal of the 16th Amendment with a stipulation that income taxes are forbidden at all levels of government with immediate effect.

Yes. Sorry. The Seventeenth is the one which converts Senators to popular vote, which is also one I would repeal if I could.

I agree completely on the 17th, too.
No income tax also has the added benefit of destroying all the political loopholes
that are counter-productive, .e.g., the mortgage interest deduction that encourages
stupid real estate purchases which drives up the price of housing while enriching banksters.

There is no peaceful solution to the problems that we are currently facing.

It's looking that way, but the average American is going to have to get a lot more uncomfortable to make it happen. Cynical me suspects even when they become very uncomfortable there will be too many seeking a solution from government because they never learned it was government that caused the problem to begin with. After a few generations of Soviet style dictatorship change might come - or it could take centuries.

I do no believe that change will come in my life time and I fear that it will be horrible for my grandchildren.

I hate to admit it, but my children and grandchildren have crossed to the dark side and seem to be voting for their own demise... oh wait, my son has had an epiphany (after Xiden has totally trashed the country) and crossed back into the light. I'm hoping the country holds on 'till I'm gone, but it's looking bleak.

2 of my 3 children are fighting the good fight, My oldest seems lost but I still pray for her. Being that I am in my mid 50's I will still have quite a bit of this to live through. Hopefully my grandchildren will also fight the good fight but they are to young to predict at thins time. Yes, I will try to lead them in the right direction but only time will tell.

Nobody wants to touch this, but a big factor in the DC establishment is racism. One race feels they are 'entitled" because of affirmative action laws, such as the "set-asides." ALL small contracts for federal agencies are set-aside for minorities, no white males need apply. When a person thinks he is entitled to a position because of his skin color, and not his ability, he does not do a good job, and justifies his lack of performance on "racism." A government and social system, and media, system based on skin color, not individual ability. not family, not country, not the planet, not the environment, not the animals and plants not spiritual, not religion, not neighborhood or state, only one's personal physical characteristics. .

I agree, we have allowed our government to have too much money, and it has spent it on increasing control over all of us. Time to cut back the funding, government employment, and powers. PERIOD.

Seems throughout history, any one or group concerned with taxes or banking have turned out to be the most Evil of all creatures upon this earth, to name a few: The Black [ig]nobility that escaped the fall of Rome and settled in the Swamps [Venice], The Templar Nights, 2by2 becoming a lending institution and of course who could forget the [false Jews] the Bilderbergs and Rothschilds and of course our very own creatures of jeckle island and the irs...
