I read somewhere that there are like 13 states with no showings. This is a limited release with about 250 screens and coverage is spotty.

We have NO theaters in Ky showing the movie. How can it get seen if no theaters are showing it in an entire state. I am traveling to NC this coming week and will watch it at one of their locations. Really looking forward to seeing final product.

Wow! All over the map is an understatement! It got either 1 star or 5 stars for the most part. An average of 4 is great!

Really? Where? Are you going to start that false argument again against quoting Rand? She has some perfect quotes that are quote worthy...Not because she said them but because they were said perfectly. If you said things like she said things I'd quote you.

Because there are those who's response is "AR said so" and not an argument based on reason and logic.

So if someone is using reason and logic to make an argument against faith based ideas it's "proselytizing"? Hmmm sounds like name calling to me again. Why can't we just call it logic based in reality and not based on a maybe or a what if?

I think that's just what some people like to call Objectivist because generally they are not "faithful"...and some just can't handle that idea...so they name call.

That explains why it wasn't 1 out of 5. I suppose I should save my ire for the Tube idiots. However, after over 50 years a Rand fan, I have encountered every negative proposition one could possibly hear. So, I'm cool. No, really, I'm cool. I'm Cool, Dammit!

Not many, but some. They generally hang out at the more hard core O sites. They find this venue not sufficiently pure.

The rating is based on customers who submit ratings. Since it is mostly the likes of those of us, not surprising.

I hope you get to see the film soon.

The problem with this is that people of religion think we who agree with Rand's ideas make the assumption that we hold her as our "higher power" because that's all you can equate it too. This isn't a faith based philosophy, Objectivism is based on reason and logic. A=A. We do not worship...we think.

I did not intend any slight. My point was to convey that I've been "defriended" by Objectivists for holding religious views that they could not dissuade me from. It's odd because I thought the ones that get accused of proselytizing are the Christians, not the atheists!

There are those with a religious fervor for AR on this site, which is rather ironic.
I can't imagine her having much patience with being treated as some kind of guru. But, then, I never knew her.

Agreed, a remake of all 3 films with the same actors in all films would make it a better flowing series - too bad I won't be around in 20 years!

Don't lose hope about a better remake. I know I'm not supposed to talk about religious stuff on an Ayn Rand worshippers site, but here goes. I read all of the Left Behind books even though I am Roman Catholic and we don't believe in the "rapture". I thought it was excellent science fiction and found them entertaining. Then again, I'm not put off by religious talk. The books were made into movies of not great quality, but I still enjoyed them. I always hoped someone else would come along and do a higher budget remake, even though Hollywood is NOT fair game for religious films. Low and behold, I saw an ad for the movie coming out October 15th - LEFT BEHIND - starring Nicholas Cage and an all-star cast! My first thought was what the hell was Nicholas Cage doing in a Christian film?! No matter, I bet they do a great job and I will definitely watch it. It's taken well over 10 years that I can recall for this remake, and there are already plans in the works for the next 2 films that were also previously made. The only actor not resigned is Nicholas Cage.

I was at the 2:25 Showing in Carmel, Indiana.
Estimate about 100 in attendance. Applause at the ending. Mostly an older crowd. 60's up.
Personally, I was quite pleased with how the story was handled. The "project X" that took down the Tagart Bridge was not mentioned. Just a picture of the Bridge missing a span.

I can finally say that all their had their moments of profundity. But as far as movies go -- for the general population -- I can see why they were so disappointing.

When will I be able to order my DVD?
