Fools' Gold, by Robert Gore

In 2013, a century after the establishment of the Federal Reserve, I published The Golden Pinnacle. The novel’s hero is Daniel Durand, a Wall Street banker. Chapter 27, “Fools’ Gold,” features Daniel’s testimony in 1913 before a House of Representatives subcommittee against legislation under consideration that would establish the Federal Reserve. Eleanor is Daniel’s wife and Tom and Alexander are two of his four sons. As the current banking crisis unfolds, I won’t have much to say that will add in any meaningful way to what I said in “Fools’ Gold”. Why repeat myself? Perhaps I’ll just keep linking back to this post. Please share in whole or in part with attribution and a link back to this post.

"Was it possible to hold politicians in too low an esteem?"
    No.

Thanks for writing and posting, Robert. 👍

Government is responsible for more accumulated death, injury, and destruction than any other thing in history.
It has never returned a net benefit to the people it is supposed to serve.
Any time great power is given to (or stolen by) government it will be used by sociopaths to loot from others.
This will always be the case.

I wonder sometimes why the majority of people just trust blindly in government in the face of such evil, self serving and stupid behavior on their part

Until we identify that and do something about it, we are doomed.

An ever-increasing number are dependent on The State -- for employment, whether at Federal, State, County or Municipal level -- or through the State Handouts, whether those be financial, bureaucratic, professional, etc. They dare not question the voice that provides their sustenance. The fluff and froth floating at the top of the bubble -- The Woke (Entitled) Culture -- and the rest of the parasites, evidence the height from which we will fall. Of course, a few of us are already in a Gulch of our own design and will weather the storm. The world is going to get much more interesting in just the next few years.

Unfortunately, the dependency is so great that our standard of living will definitely and continually fall as socialism takes hold. You can prepare for a few months of collapse, but not for years.

Getting this book. The excerpt was.....WOW.
In the Amazon description the key quote for me was “You’ll never know what you lost if you never know what you had.”
    We’ve lost a lot.
I wonder at what point the hoodwinked masses will realize what has been done.
It used to be assumed that the middle class functioned as a buffer between the lower classes and the elites. It seems the lower classes are now the buffer. Apologies for my apparatchik style classisms. I’m at a loss for another way to define the concept.
Perhaps it would be the Parasites seem to run interference for the Looters against the Producers. And now that I really think about it...they always have.

Next on my list. I’m currently working my way through “When Money Dies” by Adam Ferguson.
I’m a huge fan of American History. Despite the fact that I’m descended from United Empire Loyalists.
This is a great nation. Even in it’s death throes it’s still the best looking horse at the glue factory.
One could say I’m a Blackpilled guy staring into the abyss. Looking for a glimmer of hope. And it just stares back. Politically speaking. I myself am quite optimistic about my future. My family survived the uprooting of their “nation” 245 years ago. We’re still here. Better than average. We will endure. Just not as easily as it could be.

"Someday a hoodwinked, enslaved, bankrupted people will realize who is responsible for its ruin. When the slaves revolt, they will seek the blood of their masters."

And oh boy, that day is coming. Adding.,.... I bought this in September of 2018....I appreciated it then, and probably need to go back and read it again.

The last two or three paragraphs really hit home for me. The last statement is problematic today since the population of this country is under a soft tranny as stated by one of the news anchors on Fox. The current Whitehouse administration is pushing fear of prosecution through the Justice Dept if citizens take to the streets to demonstrate against the government's policies. That's why they are going all out to eradicate the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. because they fear what is expressed in the last statement by Daniel.

Thanks, SLL, for bringing this to us again. I purchased and read "The Golden Pinnacle" a number of years ago and recall it was a wonderful book. Time to read it again in preparation for the sequel, which I hope will be soon!

Phenomenal argument by Daniel Durand. If you tie the fictional Atlas Shrugged,
the non-fiction historical facts of Norman Dodd’s
Interview with G Edward Griffith as well as the Prussiagate essays by Will Zoll to your Golden Pinnacle literary masterpiece anyone can see how we got to where we are today. Not only the debt slavery, but the War machine , the Marxism , the LGBTQHDTIDIOTS , the Genocidal Health industry , the infiltration from within.

My next book, The Gray Radiance, should be out later this year or early next year. It's Part Two of a projected trilogy, of which The Golden Pinnacle is Part One. The main character in this trilogy is the United States.

Oh, Robert, this is one of the most superb pieces of writing ever to have reached my consciousness. It's like "Galt's Speech", only more concise. It's right on the money, and as a proofreader I found it exquisitely polished. Only one typo in the whole piece: should be "straitjacket", not "straightjacket" (in two places). Looking forward to your whole trilogy. Maybe someday humankind will outgrow the predator/prey meme inherited from its animal beginnings.

Thanks, and thanks for the edit. I have said more than once that nothing written, including the Bible, Talmud, and Shakespeare, cannot be edited, although those books have been around a while so they've probably got the typos out. I'll need a proof reader for The Gray Radiance. Send an email to me at robertgore1@me.com. When it's ready I'll get in touch, and we can discuss the job and compensation.
