Nuestra Señora de Atocha, integral part of the 1622 Spanish treasure fleet sunk in a hurricane, is widely regarded as the most valuable wreck ever located. Mel Fisher, who found the Atocha after many years of struggle and searching, had to fight the state of Florida for possession, a fight that lasted in court for eight years. SCOTUS found in favor of Fisher, awarding him total ownership of treasure found to date, although Fisher and Florida may have settled for a 25% cut going to Florida in future finds in the wreck site vicinity.

Proceeds from the Perdue Emerald auction were donated to groups engaged in humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine. Date of auction is not shown at linked site.

Another bit of evidence that inflation is rampant.
I have an emerald here that is just as old as that one, (albeit a bit smaller at 3.32 carats.)
I'll let it go for only half that price, and I'll even pay for ring sizing.
I promise to use the proceeds immediately for capitalizing a free market business.
    Stuff Ukraine.
    Any takers?

When Chiden is done sending these people to their death against Russia... There will be no more people in Ukraine.

We are in this until the Last Ukranian, and even Russian no long wants the land... Because... That makes sense... Right? LOL

Biden wants to slow down Putin's avowed aggression. Putin will eventually take over a desvastated Ukraine and a people who hate him to the core. Pretty stupid for Putin do what he did.,

with 100 billion spent by usa in the ukrainian conflict so far, and 40 million population in ukriane, thats about $2500 for each Ukrainian if given directly as a gift.

As its looking, ukrain will be reduced to absolute rubble, nothing will even grow there, and maybe hafe of the people there will just have left. Hope they set offbooby traps before they leave

My emeralds aren't anywhere near 2ct, let alone as big as that monster. Set in silver, too. Maybe a good barter item someday, but meanwhile I'll just enjoy them and wonder what kind of mind thinks dumping money into the Ukraine is going to do anything but line big pockets.
