The photos of Stanford University newest student surgery admissions were 14, one male 13 females. Also, given about 35% of the American population is white male, none of these were white male. Anyone think something is a bit fishy here?

Simple anti-white male racist sexist discrimination.
      Unconstitutional.

Since 5 out of the 14 appear to be white female, who are also about 35% of the American population, they are properly represented in the whole. Definite deliberate discrimination against white males seems to be afoot, though.

          "Properly represented" ?
The only way to be properly represented is if one is the best one able to do a job.
"Proper representation" is socialist bullshit that has no place in any rational discussion.
There is no such thing as "proper representation" because each job is filled by an individual.
Every individual has different capabilities and should be judged by how well those capabilities
match the requirements of each job.
I will concede that it does make sense for 14 of 14 females to be doing the job of giving birth
to human beings, but only because every one is better able to do so than any male.
If the surgery admissions process judges entry on that basis, I would have no
          issue with any resulting "representation".

I respect nothing but competence. Without competence there is nothing. I am a pilot and it definitely worries me what will happen in aviation when the laws of physics are superceded by the laws of diversity.

You are right. Ask American and Delta (and others) how their DEI statements line up with the US Constitution and/or civil rights federal laws. The answers will be interesting.

FFA, you are reading far more into this than I intended. 35% of 14 is 4.9 and there are apparently 5 white females pictured. Playing the race gender game, which has nothing to do with merit, then they are "properly represented" given the proportion of white females in the US. I make no claims that the race gender game played by so many institutions is rational.

              5 white females
              sounds anti-male to me
or did no white males apply?

Looks that way as I said above. Back when I was working for corporate America job postings that said "Diverse Candidates Welcome" was actually code for "white male need not apply". From what I'm seeing, academia has been running up that flag for a long time and the demographics, such as shown in the article here, reflect it.

Speaking from experience as a consultant for a leading private university,
the level of incompetence in that organization is immense and the level
of diversity hire instead of merit hire is equally massive.
The level of waste there is absurd.
There are a small number of competent people who stay
and have ensured the organization's survival so far.
(They have billions in endowment from the estate of a founder of one
of the most successful and well known products in the world.
I'm pretty sure he is rolling over in his grave at what has been done with
                  his endowment.)

I've experienced the same. I'm not saying many of the folks I came to know who benefited from the diversity game were not nice people, because most were very nice. However, it sure seemed that when "diversity" is forced into the decision making process the Peter Principle gets accelerated - sometimes considerably.

[sarcasm font on] I was under the impression that white males can't be discriminated against. At least that's what the MSM says, and I always believe them! [sarcasm font off]

I've watched my niece graduate from med school in Miami. And I noticed the lack of white males. On my daughters campus, at awards ceremonies (things I attended in my undergrad, which were heavily male, mostly white). Are now mostly female, all minorities... And a sign of the times (Not that more diverse people are getting their due... But that they are being selected).

The sad part... When it comes to doctors.
Most doctors stick with being doctors UNTIL they retire. Well, when they are MALE.

The numbers appear to be HALF that number of female doctors stick with it. I have a friends wife who became a Vet. She dropped that career after a few years, to raise children.

The COST of educating (mis-educating) a doctor is quite high. The government bears a LOT of the costs, because the future income tax revenue is well worth it. UNLESS they don't spend 20yrs doing the job. Then at that point, we've lost 3 times!

    1) This increases the SHORTAGE of doctors
    2) This increases the COST per practicing doctor
    3) This discourages the very people who tended to stick with the career from even trying...

    I see this and cringe.
Diversity, FWIW does NOT create stronger SOCIAL COHESION. Sorry.

Just ask the rape victims in Europe!

Similar Values is a strength, because it is self-reinforcing...

It takes ONE BAD APPLE to ruin a bunch.

But are bad apples, NOT the very definition of diversity?

      👍
Lowering the bar for graduation of all degrees insures the incompetency is wide spread and camouflages individual incompetency.
This is the kernel of the plan to destroy America.

Ah. Affirmative Action. It hired a black female, thereby killing two birds with one stone as it axed my first husband with all of his experience and training. He happened to have the least seniority of the crew, so goodbye white male, hello black and female with NO experience or training.

We saw how that could work in the plandemic. Of course, the truth would be completely suppressed.

To a degree, but the system itself is only partially controlled. The Feds were indirectly influencing things via the greed motivation (it isn't profit when it comes at the result of peoples' lives). If the government had control, they'd simply be executing patients walking through the door before the doctor ever saw them - probably as a result of their ESG score...

Affirmative Action is one thing. What this administration has done has pushed "Affirmative Action only if the applicant is completely unqualified." That's not an exaggeration... Kleptos, pathalogical liars, real loonies...

Yes is the answer to your question, it'll follow the example of the disasters in the White House and surrounding government positions. It may even lead to WWIII if we let it.
