I don't drink from plastic glasses either. And I don't cook with aluminum pans. My uncle is terribly allergic to aluminum. And aluminum is not recommended for anyone with Alzheimer's or a family history of allergies to aluminum.

Prior to the 20th century, no one even knew how to identify cancer. Without being able to look at individual cells and differentiate them from other cells at the nuclear level, you'd never know. It's likely that it has been around forever and no one had tools necessary to diagnose it accurately. (It's also more than likely that the eroding diet of modern Americans has significantly contributed to higher rates of cancer as well.)

As to "oil-based" vs "plant-based" medications, it would be wise to evaluate those one at a time. Do I think there have been some "snake-oils" peddled throughout the ages - even before petroleum products? Absolutely. But I am very careful to recognize fallacy of inclusion (via blanket-statements) in situational questions like these. (It is like the difference between the polio vaccine developed by Jonas Salk and the COVID "vaccines" developed by Moderna/Pfizer/etc.)

If you have information about certain medications and their deleterious effects on human beings, please share so we can all benefit.

Well I make a delightful soap with Pure Lanolin and certain essential oils. The doctors and dentists I have worked with love the Peppermint soap because if you have itchy skin, it soothes it. I even use cake coloring in the bars.

When cancer was discovered, people began to wonder if it came from the "oil" medicines. In return, Rockefeller open the cancer society, which has grown considerably since the 1800s, but no cure was every found. In addition, many of the diseases (ADD, ADHD, etc.) have been questioned about the "change in medicine from plant-based to oil-based) but every is told there is nothing to see with oil-based medicine. Then, we had COVID-19 and many were forced to take the jab. Now we are finding that it was all planned. I'm not saying the Rockefeller knew what oil-based medicine would do. I'm saying that he didn't care whether his "medicines" were doing it or not.

I never implied a conspiracy of any kind with regard to making plastics from petroleum products. I simply mentioned that it represented a portion of the cost of a given product (nearly any given product) which would have been affected by the pipeline shutdown.

I'm not saying that such a conspiracy does not exist, only that I'm waiting for substantiation to your claim before I conclude that to be the case.

This isn't the common internet site where trolls abound and every conversation is combative. We're more than willing to listen - and ask hard questions along the way - if you want to present your line of reasoning.

Just as you won't give us your conspiracy, neither will I. Some chemicals cause much danger to the body, including medicines made from oil. But those medicines mad the Rockefellers rich, while killing many of people.

Rockefeller gave birth to the AMA and the Pharma industry. This happened around the time he “granted” funds to scientists to study the origins of oil. They came up with oil came from fossils that took millions of years to turn to black gold.
Creating the idea of a scarcity or limited supply. That worked Quite well for him.

The savvy manufacturer looks for any part of the process where they can save money without deleteriously affecting the product. That may be in raw materials acquisition, the manufacturing process (including machinery), packaging, distribution, marketing, etc. There are any number of ways in which to examine cost inputs.

Petroleum products enable a wide variety of products to be made cheaply and easily. That includes a wide variety of chemicals used in any number of applications including hair care and medications. Dow (Chemical) didn't become the namesake for the Dow-Jones Industrial Average by sitting on their hands.

If you'd like to present a conspiracy, don't let anyone here stop you...

Everything you can make from petroleum you can make from industrial hemp. (And more)
The seminal work by Jack Herer "The Emperor Wears No Clothes: A History of Cannabis/Hemp/Marijuana" Documents the war between the oil baron DuPont and the centuries old hemp agriculture. DuPont had all the patents on making products with petroleum, there are no patents on hemp. So to vilify hemp, DuPont teamed up with the Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN) in 1930, headed by Harry J. Anslinger and king of yellow journalism: William Randolph Hearst resulting in a required the 1936 "tax stamp act" to grow hemp, which no one could afford (and the government refused to issue). Thereby creating an entire petroleum-based economy and a total crushing of the centuries old hemp industry.
It was one of many horrible aspects of the industrialization of the world from an agricultural-based one. From pollution to toxicity to non-biodegradable waste products, the move away from hemp to total petroleum dominance has done far more harm then good. All for the all-mighty dollar.

"Easier" doesn't make better, or less dangerous. Sometimes, something that appears to work later proves to be dangerous.

oil also makes the job of chemistry easier

i had a Chem Professor that wanted us to make all sorts of things (on paper) starting with Coal

heat Coal to make acetylene, that triple bond between the 2 carbons is very reactive and makes it easier to make other stuff
(i used to do coatings, now i just do computers)

Probably have to put those petroleum products in the shampoo to keep your hair from freezing and rusting. 😉

On a more serious note, I googled products from petroleum and got a list of over 6,000.

I saw a PSA about 1 year ago that was probably funded by the petroleum industry that showed a guy bringing his snacks in to watch TV. When he sat down, they started removing things from the scene that had petroleum in them. It wasn't long before the only thing left was the frame of the house.

Wow. Are we talking plastic here, or shampoo and conditioner? And how about medicines? Wake up.

Decades ago me dino read a paperback novel (can't recall its name) about microscopic creatures created in a lab to eat oil spills.
Then those micro organisms out of control rapidly multiplied and spread like Covid, eating all manner of interesting stuff we use that are petroleum products such as all things plastic.
The novel ended with mankind using horses to pull carts with wooden wheels.
The author tried to cheer me up with a romantic ending that was suddenly giddy enough to make me throw the book across a room. Its next stop was File 13.
