Being told by authority figures that your gender is indeterminate, maybe it's easier just to cancel the whole thing--with a handful of pills or a bullet.

    A teen aged girl contemplating suicide is desperately ill! Their hormones are ranging and you should have them examined by a good physician. I would suppose it is difficult for a teenager to believe people my age were ever teenagers, but damn they should have been around in the -50's that was a wild ride. We were tough!

      I think you have hit on something important with your "we were tough" statement. There seems to be very little "mental toughness" these days. saying something unkind is considered 'bullying'.

      When I was in middle school, if the worst thing that happened was someone called me "four-eyes", (remember that commercial?) that was a really good day. "Bullying" was when one of the bigger kids beat you up and took your lunch money. I think a good dose of the old 'sticks and stones' mentality would go a long way.
