Cynical me here. A justice system would have the murderer executed - preferably hanged in public view. The legal system sucking up tax dollars for lawyers and others got him 60 years, which he will likely get paroled long before the sentence is up. After parole he will go on welfare and, using more tax dollars, will hire more lawyers to sue the system for some imaginary offense while incarcerated and live happily ever after soaking up the Florida sun on a Florida beach sipping a cold one (courtesy of the taxpayer) - that little wade across the Rio Grande will pay off in the end.

Edit add: It may not all be roses for him because every couple of years he may have to work as a Neo Communist (Democrat) mule stuffing ballots in drop boxes.
