Disney got used to its profits from the Marvel and Star Wars franchises, but what they failed to understand was exactly what made those franchises successful and popular was that they catered not to the fringe but to the mainstream - a mainstream who believes in right and wrong and American values and objects to perversity and wokeness.

  Chocolate candy works way better!

      Best trap ever: drywall bucket 1/3rd full, old paint roller, little ramp that doesn't quite make it to the roller. 2" or so gap. Make sure the roller spins freely, coat with peanut butter. Mouse reaches for the goo, but has to jump onto the roller to get the goods, roller spins, mouse goes in the drink. No more mouse. Works for chipmunks as well.

    I used to use Disney as a reference for how an entertainment business should be run: "Pay attention to who your customers are." I guess they are still a reference, as a negative example: "Ignore your customers, go broke."

  Riddle me this Batman: If all US patents run out after some given time (I don't know whether it's 7, 10 or 20 years) and can not be renewed indefinitely, how is it disney has the only indefinite patent on the little rodent?

    Disney lobbied and got the copyright laws changed including the rodent and all music composers so the rights for the original source of creativity (e.g., owner) extend 70 years after the death of that person, up to 100 years for a corporation, iirc.
    The law (aka “Mickey Mouse Protection Act”) passed unani-mouse-ly in the Senate in 1998.
    I call it the Looting Great-Grandchild Act because it enriches descendants of composers at the expense of young performing artists who often need every dime to succeed.

I am happy to see this.

I am from Florida and lived in the Central Florida area most of my life. In 1997 I planned a weekend and took my family to Disney World. Unbeknownst to my wife and I our plans coincided with gay pride day. When we arrived the perversions that were on display sicken us and caused countless questions from our 7 and 9 year old children. Since that time I have done everything in my power to not allow any of my business to flow in their direction. I know that I have not been completely successful and furthermore I know that my small bit of commerce has a infinitesimal impact. I am just happy that others are now on board and together we are having an impact.

We as a family gave up on Disney and threw them to the curb as soon as we saw the first male to male liplock... guess alot of other people have too it looks like. Good riddance. Walt must be just spinning in his grave.
