Tyrannical Federal Agency (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission) May Ban Gas Stoves in US. I Never Asked For Protection By These Tyrants. Shut Them Down!

Excerpt: "A federal agency may implement a nationwide ban on natural gas stoves over concerns that they cause health and respiratory problems. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) will have public comment about gas stoves in the winter of 2023 and could set standards on emissions—even possibly banning them, CPSC head Richard Trumka Jr. told Bloomberg News. Natural gas stoves are estimated to be used in roughly 40 percent of all U.S. homes. “This is a hidden hazard,” Trumka told the news service in an interview published on Jan. 9. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.” The CPSC already issued a request for information seeking data on the alleged hazards associated with gas stoves and input for solutions, but the CPSC hasn’t proposed any regulatory actions yet, a spokesperson told media outlets on Jan. 9. Representatives for the agency didn’t respond by press time to a request by The Epoch Times for comment. Such a request for data and input, Trumka told reporters last month, “is the first step in what could be a long journey toward regulating gas stoves.” Trumka, a Biden appointee, is a former congressional Democratic staffer and the son of Richard Trumka, the late former chief of one of the most powerful unions in the United States, the AFL-CIO. A ban on the manufacture and import of new gas stoves is a “real possibility,” he noted at the time. If there’s enough public pressure, the CPSC “could get a regulation on the books before this time next year,” he said." --------------------------------------------------------- These tyranys are Revolting. Why aren't we? DC can't be reformed. NIFO.

    Back to Wood Stoves...
    Aren't Trees Renewables?

So Wood Fires must be VERY VERY GREEN!

The control freaks in the Peoples Republic of New York have tried several times now to outlaw wood burning to save the trees and the planet in one fell swoop. Close, but no cigar so far. I supplement my home's heat with wood (3 fireplaces) and my workshop is heated with wood (stove) in the winter. The wood supply in my area is ample with plenty just laying around from storms and insect attacks.

It would most certainly be a hazard to the health of the individual who came into my home to use force to remove my property. Application of a bit of chloroform, strangulation, then placing the thief into a double-ply contractor bag which is then placed in the bin that I push to the curb each Monday morning. The problem is then relocated to the local landfill.

Pardon my being a bit graphic here -- these kinds of news stories related to govt overreach simply piss me off -- an emotional reaction, to be sure, but I feel better now ;)

In Nevada, we have tens of thousands of old abandoned mine shafts that haven't been "reclaimed" yet. With old crumbling unsafe ladders such that no one can go down and come back. That and a few bags of lime are a perfect solution and a perfect final resting place for bureaucrats! Should write some cowboy poetry about it all.

I would hate to foul those mining sites, but at least most deceased politician carcasses have a fairly short half-life.

Very short half lives due to having little life of value and they can be joined by the other vermin, jackals, and other various rubbed out miscreants that have been dealt with. Doesn't include buzzards, coyotes, javelina, rattlesnakes, etc that are innocent and respectable desert denizens.

Chief excuse cited by CPSC is gas stoves exacerbating asthma, especially in children. Incidence of asthma has been declining since at least 2000. Children represent relatively few cases and almost no deaths. Chief exacerbation of asthma is smoking, which explains why the asthma rate is far, far higher among Black Americans, including Black teenagers. CDC cites outside air quality as a leading factor, but hugely improved in recent years. As my brother Roger points out, these attacks on energy sources are now everywhere. And now that solar and wind are becoming more common, attacks on them are mounting. No gas, no oil, no wind power, no solar power. After all, animals don't need them. Man is the freak of the Universe for environmentalists. This is the anti-industrial revolution. Big charge against wind power: kills bats over the Great Lakes. At least one great thing about Donald Trump is that he paid zero attention to the environmentalists. Making him a hate object, of course.

And next will be gas fireplaces. Maybe gas clothes dryers. What about propane? Talk about junk science.

Propane does not burn as clean as NG. I've owned both and prefer NG. That said, the newer propane appliances burn much cleaner than the old ones. We just built our new retirement home: all propane, except the fridge. Which, from my research, there are plenty to pick from, unless you need a giant-sized one.

Regime Now Coming For Your Gas Stove. Yes, Really. They “Cause” Asthma'
Because they can. They can ban anything they like.
Because “climate crisis” and because, at least for now, “asthma”. Perhaps they will add “sudden deaths” to the list soon.

, the epidemiologist fallacy in its full glory. Number of kids “exposed to gas stoves was obtained from the American Housing Survey for the US, and states with available data (n = 9).”
Not one kid’s exposure to gas stoves was ever measured. Just some hand-wavy proxy for it.
No use to science: no use to you. The results will be very useful to the Regime, though.

its hard to believe that gas stove cooking could exceed the pollution that occurs outside due to the effects of the economic activity. How about the pollution caused by electricity generation.

The People’s Republic NY State is all over this. Busy body control freaks, mostly unelected, puffing up their importance by sowing fear porn amongst he masses. Has there been any studies showing the problem is the nat gas or the additives the gov makes gas companies put in it?

I'm certain CONgress and the Deep State are well-invested in the electric stove alternatives. They will push out the gas stoves competition (which they hold short positions on) and make double profits.

follow the money! Where/who has financial benefits
resulting from this threat? Possibly return to methane (sewer gas) that was bottled and used prior to natural gas infrastructure being installed?
    It is natural.

Wow! My mom would throw a fit. She would never allow an electric stove in her kitchen. That little 110 pound mom of mine told my daddy 'I don't tell you how to build houses and you don't tell me what to cook on!' Talk about WW3!!

If that asinine ban is passed, sit tight on your gas water heaters, furnaces and any other appliance that runs on it. The whole point is to shut down the country's fossil fuels and push everyone into electricity for every power need they can think of. The Greenies will have a field day. (Edited for spelling)

And there won't be enough electricity to charge our EVs, and the libs get what they want: Control over my comings and goings, ergo control over me. My future looks so damned bright...

When we bought our house last year, we had some requirements. The strictest of them was: gas furnace, gas water heater, gas STOVE, gas fireplace. We backed down on some of our other requirements but not that one.

I could be wrong but I'm thinking that they will simply ban new sales of gas stoves, but not bother people like me who do not have an electric stove hookup, Eventually, I believe the house will be worth more when it's eventually sold. Because people do love their gas ovens!

Step by step there will be more rules made to protect the atmosphere. The next stage will be a tax demanded to be paid for every breath we take in and exhale. After all, we exhale CO2. There will be a quota system of only so many breaths allowed each minute. You heard it here first.

Everything organic runs on the growth command. It's built in. Whether it's strong and healthy or cancerous we don't yet understand. Growth does involve creating, and making regulations does improvise enlarging and mutating. They are not objective, mostly collective, like a tumor. And each part and particle and element is driven to feed itself. Self-feeding justifies exploiting others. "Rational" self-interest is not yet a part of the program in general use. Acquiring power over others is. Pity, huh?

The unelected bureaucratic mind loves power through procedure. They have become control freaks beyond anything since the fall of the Roman Empire. In the end the only power they have is getting an army of bullies to enforce their rules and regulations. Convincing that army to not do what they are told by the control freaks is the tough part.

CO detectors are mandatory in all new construction, reconstruction and when you sell/buy your home.... so, if emissions were anywhere near hazardous conditions, your CO alarm would be going off.
I know for a fact how sensitive these little buggers are. I had a little debris in my camp gas heater. (the old Empire brand) Within minutes of turning it on, the alarm went off. It took me a while to figure out which part of the heater was at fault until I dismantled the whole rig, right out to the outlet where I found the blockage. It was literally a little pile of rust. The pipe was basically sound, once I cleaned it out, it was fine.

Don't forget that lovely Generac that runs when your electricity fails (on gas or butane). No back up if everything is electric.

👍 Note that this function (backup generator) doesn't affect those in cities, since they have no such backup.
They are completely dependent and the traitors in DC want all of the rest (who mostly voted for Trump)
in rural areas to be completely dependent (and controlled by that dependence.)

I am thinking that instead of generac, which is dependent on deliveries of fuel, better rural solution IS in fact solar and back up battery to be essentially free of total control of government. Eventually, they will require solar to be connected to their grid I suppose like it used to be here in Nevada, and have a license and suitable fees. But until then, in rural areas, just put the panels up and wait till they come after them

Weird that an anti carbon/fossil fuel WEF member is funding AOC and the No-gas stove push. Soon Greta will be crying how hot her cocoa was spoiling her sliding parties and sleigh rides during her deprived childhood.
