Great thing about this subject..."The Memes don't need to be in Order".

    Nice!

However, hard to really see Granny as an icon for gun rights.

"Granny" (Irene Ryan) from the Beverly Hillbillies was a massive leftist union scum. She and the actress who played Miss Hathaway (Nancy Kulp) were commie-pals. Buddy Ebsen actually supported Nancy's opponent, and cost her an election in PA. She was pissed!

The plumber and electrician probably get along fine. This little wiring/plumbing situation is usually done the day before the building inspector is to show up in an effort to keep him busy....

Should have a 3rd panel, where R. Lee says "show me your war face": Chairman Xi smiling an inscrutable smile.

    Hahaha, perfect!
I should talk with a dialect specialist sometime. Between Detroit, Toronto, and Louisa, Kentucky, I'd have him flummoxed!

I was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. A company my father worked for moved my family to Dothan, Alabama, half an hour from the Florida state line when I was just four-years-old. My family remained closely knit with three other northern company families who moved down while I went to public schools to be exposed to really Deep South Alabamians.
End result? To southerners I sound northern and to northerners I sound southern.
During the Nineties when a I was a state corrections officer, I went to a fair in Birmingham. I won a teddy bear from a dialect specialist because he couldn't figure out where the hell I came from.

    Heehee!
    You two are a hoot.

My mom was Canadian, my dad was from Kentucky, and I was born and raised in Michigan, so my accent for a long time was quite a mishmash of sounds. lol

I like to keep up with what's going on in Canada (mom's side is Canadian) and the UK, so I read several news sites and blogs from those countries.

One of them is Guido Fawkes, which is geared towards the UK parliament, and let me tell you, their politicians are a sorry lot.

Anyhoo, the Comments section of stories in Guido's page are well worth reading. The Brits haven't lost their gift for literature and witty turns of phrase.

There have been TONS of discussions about the former prince and the demon wife, most of which are uproariously funny.

Yesterday was another matter entirely. Excerpts from the prince's book apparently came out, and the Peanut Gallery is hopping mad. It was in the Brit papers, too. I'm surprised we didn't see a mushroom cloud off in the distance, from all the outrage.

Personally I find it quite sad. They're both narcissists, so God help their kids.
I grew up with a narcissistic parent, so I know all too well how bad they can mess you up.

That is true with your southern drawl. My accent has been called by some as Canadian tell and tail are more distinct with the Midwest accent.Tall tales and wagging tails are homophones. They are fun when you accept or except that a rose looks good in rows and when under his nose the Colonel knows a popcorn kernel could chip his tooth eating the fare he could buy for four bucks at the county fair , bye for now.

Danke. Until today in all my 75 (just over 2 months short of 76) years did it occur to me that, save for the slightest inflection of pronunciation, "tail" and "tell" sounds almost exactly alike.
Of course, it's no tall tale that "tail" and "tale" is a perfect audible match.

I remember it but wasn't particularly a fan... Girls, Cars and Outerspace captured my attention a bit early in life...
