It looks like im in the gulch now

I was learning about Atlas Shrugged in high school and stumbled upon this website while searching for quotes about the Gulch in chapter one, part three.

I wonder why we call this place the "Gulch". It sounds more like a swamp, IMO, but I guess I don't know much about the significance about the name yet? Maybe I'll find out if I remain here a while.

    This Gulch is our refuge where we can share our historical research, investigate the deep state swamp, sniff out what's next to come, all the while, noticing how profoundly close Atlas Shrugged reflected the times in which we live.

    Words are important. Please use them in a way that can be understood. Are you calling this online forum a swamp.
