That's why I try to always call it hydrocarbon fuel.
At best fossil fuel is a hypothesis without any factual support.

That hypothesis was bought and paid for by John D Fuckafeller . 100+ years ago. The implied scarcity and the reality have proven to be incongruous. The only scarcity is intentional disruption of production by interested parties.

Sinclair started promoting their fuel as coming from the dinosaurs. Sounded reasonable until I realized there couldnt have been THAT many dinosaurs to feed our fuel appetites for all these years...

Sinclair still implies their fuel comes frmo the dinosaurs with dinosaur pictures all over.

oil and most forms of coal are likely products of the deep Earth

for a simple reason, look how deep most oil wells have to go to find oil

deepest i could find is 40,000 feet
just how did the oil get that far down?

simple, it came up from below where the components are cooked by the Earth into oil

I could not agree more, what life got shoved that deep into the crust. That is 6 miles deep. Plus they drill in 2+ miles under water and then go in to the earths crust .

This seems to me a non sequitur. When oil was first produced commercially (1870s) it was from seeps found on the surface. We drill deep today because the oil that was easier to find and gather was used up first.

I recall recently reading an article that stated there is one theory that oil is being created constantly by microorganisms deep within the Earth's crust under heat and pressure. The author also pointed out that Rockefeller did indeed create the illusion that it was a scarce resource in order to keep the price up.

Personally I could never figure out how dinosaurs could die and their remains wind up several miles below the Earth's surface. I guess I just don't have a very vivid imagination.

If fossil fuels do actually come from rotting living matter then I think there will be an endless supply.
Every living animal and every living human dies so the only question is, how long before my hydrocarbons become oil? Ha, I am in the camp that oil from 40,000 feet has nothing to do with dino or fossil.

Reading for the second time: (ok, I'm blond)
Jerome Corsi's "The Truth about Energy, Global Warming, and Climate Change"
It is a great "eye opener" as it provides concepts, solid evidence, and reasons for the fraud of the climate change "movement". It states the same things as Col Prouty does. Oil will never run out.

Just a thought. If what we want is energy, wouldnt it be better to got it from the minimum amount of matter required? seems like burning hydrocarbons is pretty inefficient.

when you look to nuclear power, E=mc2, the efficiency is a lot greater .

Yes but wouldn’t a nuclear powered car be expensive?

its science fiction at this point, but the idea I was floating is that the fuel would be so much less ( E=mc2) and it could charge the car while it was at rest and moving. Current technology just isnt OK for mass manufacture and use of electric power for cars. If the government doesnt get in the way, something will have to be invented to make it practical.

No doubt that I do not trust the Government and I know that the people in power manipulate literally everything that we receive through the media. To sway the People at large in whatever direction they feel will bring them more power.

But this begs the question, "What is oil." I understand that just because something has all the markers of being organic doesn't mean that something at one time or another was alive. Elemental Carbon and Hydrogen can be combined in nearly infinite ways and never have been alive. But some process must have created this oil in the first place and likely is still creating it. Is this just a natural process based on the elements within the crust of the Earth? I know what the school science books say on this matter but from his claims I would like to know what he has to say on where oil comes from.

Although abiotic oil is continuously created, the EROI [Energy Return On Investment] has been continuously decreasing. 100+ years ago, the EORI was 100 -- punch a hole in the ground and let the oil flow up the pipe, by 1970 it had dropped to 30, then in 2020 to 10. Bakken fracking has an EROI ~5. The tar sands of Canada is ~4. The Permian and Niobrara is down to 2. The offshore methane-hydrates is 1.1. The world is heading for an Energy Cliff. Debt financed oil recovery, such as fracking during 2005-1015, has pulled proven future reserves into the present; this exacerbates the slope of the Cliff. Most of the folks here in The Gulch will still be around (2025-2030) when we experience the inescapable reality of the Energy Cliff.

I know that Peak Prosperity Talks about this.

One of my concerns is KNOWING that some of the players are SO DISHONEST that they have ASKED the government to RESTRICT drilling in areas where there was KNOWN to be abundant oil.

Meaning that the Energy Cliff might be a man-made myth, as we are not drilling in some areas (like most of the US).

Oh, and we should have migrated to NUCLEAR as we planned from the 1970s... But those OILER shipping companies created Green Peace... And well, we know how that turned out!

So much of this stuff goes on, that we CANNOT know the truth!

Heard it before, but you provide interesting data with your argument. The US has several centuries reserves of Nat gas. I happen to believe in example the north slope and many other “protected areas “ hold vast Quantities of oil. But we are at a point where we need to find a sensible mix of existing resources
Coal , Oil , hydro , Nuclear and research hydrogen and other technologies. To deliver energy for today and tomorrow.

Anyone involved or connected with the burning of hydrocarbon fuels is going to be very much against switching to other forms of energy

people who want more power over others want a drastic change in energy production (controlled by them of course) To most people today, hycrocarbon fuels are essential to producing energy that they need. If the left takes that away, it makes a lot of people very afraid and more agreeable to be controlled.

hat said, burning hdrocarbons is kind of inefficient. Takes a LOT of hydrocarbons to produce energy on a mass scale. How about marrying a small nuclear reactor/generator with a battery to power our cars? It will put the solar panel, wind turbine, and hydrocarbon buring sectors in bankruptcy. Also would probably result in the government usurping the inventino and then stealing at and profiting from it.
