But does this estimate account for all incidental and indirect costs--such as crime and effects of drugs related to increased gang activity? What about the additional fentanyl that accompanies the border "got-aways" now laughing their heads off in "sanctuary cities."

This calculation of $20B uses the figure of 2.3 million illegal migrants and comes up with a tax burden of $9000/yr/illegal. To get the number $6000, I took the $20B estimate and divided it by 3M, the number I've frequently heard for illegal migrants admitted or otherwise getting across the border and into the country. Another estimate puts the number at 5 million. Obviously, there's a wide variance on these estimates. Suffice it to say that both the $6000 and $9000 estimates are probably extremely conservative.
