Some Russian men volunteer to fight in Ukraine to avoid their wives.

Excerpt:
"One-tenth of the men in Russia volunteering for the conflict with Ukraine are doing so to escape their henpecking wives, the mayor of the coal-mining town of Vorkuta, Yaroslav Shaposhnikov, has claimed."

---------------------------------------------------------------
(Imagine how unsuitable for marriage that women in America must be, that American men have been going to Russia to find better wives.)

I encountered a few of those 'wives' at Ft Hood and Ft Sam Houston...didn't see any at Ft Polk. None would have won a beauty contest. And I was seriously underwhelmed at their learning abilities.

Again, from experience... I don't believe this is true.
In Russia I found that the people I interacted with happily married. And interestingly enough, the women were "Old School" the would cater to the men, serve, expect no help in the kitchen, and would not argue with their husbands in front of company, even when they disagreed.

Honestly, the worst thing I saw was a wife get up from the table to do some of the dishes when her husband went off on a tangent she disagreed with.

It was REFRESHING. And the flip side was that the men treated their wives with respect and appreciation... (The old... BOTH felt lucky to have found the other).

The latter is something I rarely see in America. Instead it's more like "Both Settled!". There are exceptions, but they are far more rare these days... IMO.

    THIS SOUNDS like typical Propaganda!

Me dino respects what you personally experienced.
Nevertheless, the article make me think of my ex.
At least she admitted she was crazy years after we divorced.
We're still "linked" due to our kids now grown.

Again... American Women these days have been deeply damaged by the system.

I recently talked to a 29yr old guy who refuses to date them. He said, even worse. In todays world the average 19yr old has been so involved in Hookups that they have body counts like 45 (and he verified that body count is a euphemism for sexual partners).

Dr. Jordan Peterson talks about how 80% of the women believe they are better looking than average, and deserve a guy that is better looking than average. Then they rate 80% of the guys as BELOW average.

        This will not end well!
Couple that with a lack of marriage in general.
The MGTOW movement, and the financial punishment most men go through with their divorce... I would say we have a long road to recover from!

Financial punishment? Been there, done that.
No need for going into details but my ex's own grandmother wanted me to keep the kids. I knew my kids would hate me and cry after their mother and she was a licensed nurse.
I had the kids every other weekend instead of that once a month crap.
Psst! You can make the rules if you can arrange the divorce and keep it out of court.
Of course, I had to pay child support and way back when do some other negotiating with my ex, who this year had to sell her house and move in with my grown daughter's family.
Guess I had my share of psychological damage like that 29-year-old. Never married again.
Did get interested in another woman until I met her family. They were as dysfunctional as my ex's family and I never went back.

Sorry to hear that. But learning to look for the dysfunction is important.

            My friend has a shirt:
We but the FUN in Dysfunction!

            LOL...

Some mistakes are so painful... I prefer to make them once and get over it...

I've been a free-roaming happy libertarian bachelor for decades (now leaning into age 60). The ladies, now in the US, consist of mostly obese, sloppy, purple-hair, tatted train-wrecks with an attitude. I recall in the 80's when women actually looked good and were fun to be around. With the prevalence of divorce financial rape, false rape allegations, any allegations of misbehavior by a man, the abundance of single-moms, STDs and overt sloppiness in women, I've been more than happy to simply walk my own path and avoid all the nasty potholes of relationships. As a recently 'retired' engineer, my life consists of loads of road trips, hiking, climbing and running 100 miler ultra marathons (mostly in the US). Life is damned good -- simple, quiet and drama-free.

This 'excuse' presents a rather different picture of Russian men (scared of the women folk) than in the military recruitment ads.

I think, treat it all as a joke.

Well it seems the gent might of had a point in terms of 1 in 10 husbands donโ€™t get along with their spouse. 5 out of 10 here in the US get divorced
I would think at least 1of those 5 would say nagging and hen-pecking caused the break up.
