United States of America is a Republic with the constitution as the contract between **We The People ** and our Government.

The constitution does not have the word Democracy in it.

“Only a government that is rich and safe can afford to be a democracy, for democracy is the most expensive and nefarious kind of government ever heard of on earth”
Mark Twain

Democracies have been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their death.
James Madison

Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.
John Marshall

The experience of all former ages had shown that of all human governments, democracy was the most unstable, fluctuating and short-lived.
John Quincy Adams

It has been observed that a pure democracy if it were practicable would be the most perfect government. Experience has proved that no position is more false than this. The ancient democracies in which the people themselves deliberated never possessed one good feature of government. Their very character was tyranny; their figure deformity.
Alexander Hamilton

Democracy means simply the bludgeoning of the people by the people for the people.
Oscar Wilde

The problem is that democracy is not freedom. Democracy is simply majoritarianism, which is inherently incompatible with real freedom. Our founding fathers clearly understood this.
Ron Paul

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies.
Thomas Jefferson

Plato: Democracies DIE when they become TOO democratic...meaning, anything goes, and what usually goes away are: morals, ethics, mutuality with others and good behavior.

One Must be Invested in a republic in order to choose one's representation, not simply just occupy space within one, display the flag and behavior of the country you came from or look upon others to take care of you.

A republic's government has but one purpose and one purpose only...to mind it's borders and the moral rights of the individual under it's constitution. It makes no laws and minds it's own business.
All else falls to the Towns, cities and states within the boundaries of the republic.

That is how it’s been , when Trump gave his inauguration speech he said “ Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning, because today we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another, or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C., and giving it back to you, the people.

For too long, a small group in our nation’s capital has reaped the rewards of government, while the people have borne the cost. Washington flourished, but the people did not share in its wealth. Politicians prospered, but the jobs left and the factories closed. The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs, and while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land. That all changes, starting right here and right now, because this moment is your moment --- it belongs to you. It belongs to everyone gathered here today, and everyone watching, all across America. This is your day. This is your celebration, and this, the United States of America, is your country.”
He is not through. That is why the deep state continues their nonstop attack against him.
The Patriots are winning this war.

Ayn Rand once denounced a proposition as amounting to: "You may do whatever you please to your neighbor, provided your gang is bigger than his."

As an honorably discharged navy veteran I can say without hesitation that although I, aka "we the people", must honor every facet of the contract we sign with the government, the government has no trepidation or hesitation altering their obligations while ensuring your ass is on the shopping block for thinking to renege on your obligations.

When Benjamin Franklin was asked, 'Mr. Franklin what kind of government have you left us, his response was 'A Republic if you can hold on to it!' I think I got that right. N
