Oboy. A rumor can spread in a small town faster than a wild fire. Admittedly it sounds like the new city manager didn't quite understand her position. Any citizen should be able to speak with the city manager by presenting their problem to his secretary. In a city of 6 police officers I can understand how they could fear all losing their jobs. Somebody started that rumor. Our city has grown way beyond 6 officers even though we now have a shortage of officers but you are welcomed to visit the Chief if you have a problem and you don't need an appointment. Our chiefs have always made their office available to the citizens. Of course at times the city manager or chief may have to ask you to wait a bit, but they try to solve your problem immediately if it is a reasonable request within their authority to do it. And you can go complain to the City Council anytime you please. We do ask that you not describe city employees by any bad or derogatory names! In other words, keep it clean. I was the first lady ever elected to the Council in our city's 100 year history. My grandchild (a lady) is now on the city council of her city in our county.

Yes, this seems to be a case of a new town manager starting in a little too aggressively, not willing to consider the environment she's been plunged into. Not about racism as much as personality conflict. BLM can't see it that way.
