The linked ZeroHedge article makes it abundantly clear that semi-auto rifles such as AR-15s easily qualify for 2nd Amendment protection.
Those who oppose manufacture, private ownership, and free-market distribution of semi-auto rifles are simply advocating a police state, regardless of their professed goal of eliminating "gun violence."
The problem isn't guns; it's criminals and the failure to apprehend and eliminate criminal mentalities from society permanently--as by capital punishment for crimes where there's no possibility of restitution.
Capital punishment is appropriate and is the only sure way to prevent corrupt 'political' pardons.

This has two purposes. First, the Democrats would love to have this percolate through the Court system long enough to allow some firearm confiscation in Blue States to actually take place. They know its a long shot, but I have to give them credit for going after what they want even though their end goals are complete tyranny, to which I vigorously object.
The second is to try to claw back some of their base, which has been severely eroded due to Democrats' other disastrous policies like Open Borders, Energy (really lack thereof), Economy, and more. They're desperate to hold on to the House and Senate come November because they know that once they lose leadership that their attempts at the Green New Deal are done for another 4-6 years.
My department used the Colt AR 15 all through my career but I never had the desire to own one. Do Not believe a word the gun grabbers say. They want any and all Semi Auto weapons banned and if they do get the long guns gone they will be right after the handguns next. The only ones who don't care about any of this are the criminals who love the thought of unarmed citizens.
