I thought one went to school to learn things that one needed for later life. Being "taught" isnt what I really wanted, and as a result I thought my time in public school was really wasted. Things interest you based on what you think you will need, and your talents and abilities. Governmental indoctrination centers ultimately just ram certain preformatted pieces of information decided on by some government committee down the throats of poor unsuspecting students. No wonder so many students just want to get OUT of public school

Couldn’t agree more. I am a retired public school teacher. When I retired my profession was completely changed from the one I first worked in. I was happy to leave.

The article doesn't tell us what hue Mr. Barlow is sporting, but it seems he would be totally in accordance with holding on to idiot black teachers and tossing brilliant white ones to the curb. This is one example where the mantra "Go Woke Go Broke" won't apply because it has been shown public schools can totally fail and taxpayers will still get slapped around to cough up the loot to keep them open - and line the pockets of "teachers" and their unions.

Don't know by what criteria authorities (maybe the state teachers union?) decide a particular teacher's racial qualifications. Maybe Elizabeth Warren's .00005% Native American blood would save her job for her. (She claimed to be racially Native American and that got her some kind of appointment or special consideration as I recall.)

To me, the issue of deciding qualifications on the basis of race is pure baloney. Ayn Rand called racism "stockyards collectivism" as I recall. To me, that is a purely artificial standard--but try and tell that to the leftists in Minnesota.
