The Decline begins, starting with the News

News. Ha ha. You can gloat all you want that the news media is taking it in the shorts, but an ignorant populace is a controlled populace and local newspapers are far less likely to perpetuate the spin of the larger national chains. This is bad news - especially for rural America where true patriots still thrive.

For the elitists, this is fantastic "news" - pun intended - as it strengthens their Pravda like grip on the national media outlets.

"The decline" is well deserved. I see you can have six months of the digital San Fran Con-game for $1.

Here in Butte the local daily is the Montana Standard (a Lee Ent. paper), and what you say is true--occasionally a glimmer of truth gets through the leftist slant, especially when they actually report the exact comments of elected officials (and Montana does have a few good ones--US Rep Rosendale and State Atty Gen Austin Knudsen to name two). The trouble is that such truth is rare, even in small city newspapers.

I could get the digital Standard for $1 / 6 months but my time is better used elsewhere, even if it was free. These shockingly low prices just show that traditional media has lost its credibility--and no one has time for something that isn't credible.

I wouldn't read my local paper even if it was for free. It went far left a long time ago. I think the last issue I actually purchased was in ca 1992. The most I've ever read of it since then was the front page if it happened to be on display at the checkout counter at the gas station or grocery store - and it's been disappearing from there, too, being pushed off the displays by weird tabloids and the NY Post.

I used to live in Great Falls. We'd drive through Butte on our way to visit relatives. Fascinating history in Butte: it used to be one of the richest cities in the nation. Also directly led to the adoption of the Seventeenth Amendment (direct election of Senators).

Our local media is compromised. I watch nothing on the local news channel anymore and believe even less. I’d just as soon punch our local news anchors in the face.
I guess my NAP needs a little tweaking.
