Some crazy people might take that seriously and, say, build a gallows outside the capital building. I have pointed out specific examples previously and was told it was a "figure of speech". Unfortunately, it's one that gets used a lot around here and I would say it's a dangerous one to throw around considering what happened on January 6. Personally, I don't think most of the people who throw it around mean it as a figure of speech. JMO

And the only proven traitor I've seen is Trump. Trying to overthrow an election is a prime example of being a traitor.
