Nice walk down memory lane. I remember service stations that offered service. Some of my friends had part time jobs doing the work - I worked as a dishwasher at a large nursing home after school. For a short time my father worked part time at a friends ESSO station. Those jobs are all gone.

Thanks for the old dino memory reawakening when a service station was a service station instead of a convenience food store.
A gas station service would fill your tank while cleaning your windshield and checking your oil. He would even approach the driver and point to where the oil level is on your dipstick.
Think me dino was 16 and driving when service at a service station began to disappear. Yeah, and gas was really cheap, too.
