"Gving a thumbs down to this posting is (according to the Rules of the Gulch) calling it SPAM."
People say Facebook needs "give flowers" (not thumbs up) to express support for something like a post about someone with a grave medical condition. We could use something like that. We don't want to give "thumbs up" to the video but rather flowers for rights in peril.

Giving a thumbs down to this posting is (according to the Rules of the Gulch) calling it SPAM. It is not SPAM. It was meant to spark a discussion on the subject and nothing more.

We all should abide by the rules of the Gulch or remain silent.

It lists mass shootings, which account for a tiny fraction of murders. So they're talking about the wrong problem. It's like carrying on about healthy people dying in freak accidents from falls. Over the past 15 years it's probably a long list of names, but it's not a major problem for our society.

Then it implies there's an easy “plan” to stop these murders, but we've failed to implement it because of procrastination. They never mention what “plan” they're talking about.

Not everything that's tragic and ghastly in life requires a “plan”.

Gun violence is when you use the wrong powder charge in your cartridges, or when you "drop your gun" rather than placing it gently on the ground. Or when you club someone over the head with it instead of shooting them, thus bending the barrel.

We must end violence against guns...

Same old same old. A bunch of socialist opportunists trying to gut the second Amendment when it was their policies that caused most of these tragedies. When was the last time someone opened fire at a gun range? These shootings always take place in "gun free zones". That is why it takes so long to neutralize the shooter. I have a plan---reaffirm and strengthen the 2nd amendment.

    What do I THINK?!?
I think that is the most disgusting, emotionally charged piece of ......there is no word that I, as a wordsmith, know that is evil, twisted, corrupt, hideous, ABHORRENT enough for this new taking of a position on the bodies of the victims with the clear intent to enslave and destroy us.

I thought it was a joke - demand a plan to train teachers and administrators in marksmanship, working in tension-filled situations and enabling them to save our children. Demand a plan to give teachers paid time off to develop their shooting as well as their defensive thinking. Demand a plan to ask volunteers to patrol schools and respond to dangerous situations.

But no..."end gun violence". what in Lois Lerner's bathroom is "gun violence"? It's a nonsense term to not sound too scary and crazy.
It should be called "Demand a plan to ensure that more children are killed and more human rights are shredded."
    grrrrrrrrrrwwwrrrrroooo.
    I swear by my life,
    my fortune
    and my sacred honor,
    THEY WILL NOT PREVAIL.
