Terms of Service and Privacy Policies
are techniques used to create work/income for lawyers.

Few if any one reads them. Anyone that does is seldom any wiser.
Few will not be satisfied by the ToS and go away, even that could be too late as reading could be monitored. The big players monitor record and sell browsing history regardless of non-acceptance. A click to not accept would likely trigger more monitoring.

Well, the thing is, is anybody being forced into it?
A lot of sites have Terms of Service and Privacy Policies to which users are obliged to agree before use. But you don't have to use it. Don't get me wrong, I hate that kind of thing and think it would have been a very nice thing if the Internet had never been invented. But I am not going to just accept the Terms and Policies without reading them first, (a thing which I also hate). So I usually have them printed (I don't have a computer at home and use the library's), and take the printed copies home and read them before agreeing to them.
Now, if you'd like to organize a massive strike
(or perhaps a better word would be "boycott"), maybe that would change some things. Or maybe people who don't agree with the kind of things they are doing could start their own sites which would not do that king of "spying", or would agree that that kind of spying would not be done on the site.
(By the way, that's 2 times I just used the word "hate" on the Internet. I hope that doesn't get me in trouble with the law.)
