Why is government stockpiling guns, ammo?

Word from my local FFL dealer said only foreign-made ammo will be available to consumers. However, customs is now delaying approval from 30-days to 6 months. Coincedence?

hey! I used to live there! U city for a VERY short time and then St. Charles.
Why are the ammo companies not getting the word out? If they have caught on, why would they agree to sell ALL their stock to just the govt? You would think they would sympathize with US citizens. they are private companies, after all-unless they have been totally commandeered by the defense dept

here's what I don't understand. who is being armed? no liberal I know would even touch a sub machine gun, let alone use it. I don't see the types of folks who are in the national guard being option locked against US citizens either. the only effective force I can see are street thugs or people from other countries-paying for mercenaries or something. what do you think?

I agree with you on the .40 caliber being bought up. But, the gov't is also buying up .223/5.56 mm. Just last Friday I spoke to a local FFL dealer who just got back from a business trip to Dallas. He informed me that the gov't (through multiple agencies, as you have listed some) are purchasing as much domestically produced (Remington, Federal & Winchester) .223 ammo as they can. Doing this effectively keeps the quality ammo out of the hands of you and I, and drives up the price as well. Thus the only stuff 'the little guy' can get is foreign made. Normally, this isn't a problem, but what used to take 30 days to clear the Customs department is now taking about 6 months. I do not know who my FFL dealer spoke with, but it seems to be true since I have gone to many places within a 25-mile radius of my local area (St. Louis) and cannot find ANY .223 available.

Buy all the ammo, so that Americans cannot, in anticipation to his new government controls.
