My opinion on the huge data gathering is not to punish those who prefer the couch-potato lifestyle, but rather, put "red flags" on those who maintain an active lifestyle by rejecting the food that the gov't says is good to eat, and by exercising regularly: these types of people could be a threat to the gov't, since they would be ones to lead any sort of rebellion. Why else would the gov't want to monitor what people eat, drink, do, etc?
I don't think that is what they're going to monitor. I think it will start innocuously, reminder to have your yearly checkup, time for you to get a flu shot (yea, mandatory at some point), and yes, are there firearms in the home, how many alcoholic beverages do you drink a day, ever taken an anti depressant, if you want surgery you'll vote for the right person.....
